the stuff in your pic looks good. have you put some in a container by itself and checked it for flow?
thats a smart pot its in and it flows like a baby!

2 days?!?
That thing is blowing up Dave.
What is your top feed intervals/time like in the pure coco?
1 minute 4 times a day (every 6 hours)
its an AquaOne Maxi 102 pump but ive got a pressure bleed valve because it was flooding too much. When deep flower kicks in i suspect i may water more frequently ... we shall see
dave, how long does it take after each watering event for the reservoir level to return to equilibrium?
i havent timed because the plant is on the res and it makes it a bit hard to tell. I suppose i could try and wangle something with the lid half off and see. I suspect it would be in the order of 10-15 minutes as it seems to drain really slowly when the top is off the lid
don't go through all that! i was wondering because i think you should increase the frequency. six hours is a long time.
does the coco dry much on top? right before a pulse, after the six hour interval, is your coco still wet feeling on top?
you should be able to pick up a small handful of coco from the very top of the medium and squeeze it and get a few drops of water to run out between your fingers. if it not this wet you need to increase frequency.
this is because of salt accumulation. if you don't allow the medium to dry down significantly you are not concentrating nutrient salts in the medium.
dry coco is initially hydrophobic and once you wet it and put a plant in it never let it dry down. this avoids the possibility of channeling, which is when the applied solution finds a pathway down through the medium and doesn't disperse well. water disperses better going into an already wet medium. it travels through the medium like a wave instead of like water moving through a stream bed where it conforms to the bed.
there is a hydraulic "hook up", so to speak, in this device, that i believe sends a hormonal message to grow or to be more accurate does not send a hormonal message to down regulate growth to survive to seed.
and i believe that the rhythmic pulsing is stimulating or enhancing the molecular interactions and potential kinetic energy of these interactions.
see if you can increase frequency without causing any problems. at least once an hour.
That's awesome i love baby jokes. I envisioned it in my head when i read it, thanks for the lol.thats a smart pot its in and it flows like a baby!

its never dry. theres too much coco for that small plant to drain yet.
there is no reason at all i cant run the pump once every hour. I was just worried that the coco would stay wet too long.
ive never seen growth like this, another 2 day photo tomorrow and you will be blown away.
It's definitely hooked up now. Looks like the leaf margins are curling a bit, what's the ec?
