New and need a lil help

I put my seeds in a water bottle so the roots could pop out. Then i planted them after being in the water for about 2 days. They are under a 120 watt cfl (i planted 5 seeds not growing all of them tho) but nothing has come out the ground yet and they have been in the dirt since friday. Also i bought some nutes (Neptunes Harvest 2-4-1) and i had put in the dirt but then later read that i wasnt suppose to put any nutes in the dirt until the seeds come out the ground.
Any help would be nice.

Other than differing opinions as to germination methods, you don't relate anything too horrible. Adding fertilizer this early in what I suspect is already fertilized (Miracle Gro) soil could burn your tender new tap root.

You might consider not keeping the seeds in an air-tight wrap but rather misting the soil's surface with just water once or twice a day, and keeping the surface/soil temp at about 80 F by moving your light closer/farther away.

Other than that ... patience. Don't go digging them up just to take a look!

lol i want to so bad but im a wait i got some more seeds that are in the wet paper towel and it hasnt even been 24 hours yet and 1 of the seeds roots is about a 1/4 inch long so if my shit isnt up by tomoro or so im a jus replant

Leach your soil through now, or you'll probably kill the new seedling man. You should not have added ferts, real bad move, but sounds like you have realised this was not good. Use declorinated water or water that has stood at room temp for at least 24 hours 48 would be better. You need at least twice(x2) as much water (PH adjusted 6.3-6.8 for soil) as the size you have your plants in, ie- 11ltr pots = 22ltres of flush solution/water. This will help purge them nutes out of the pot & probably save your seeling from dying, when it has dried out a little(use the 2" finger test for moisture in the soil) add some Superthrive or a stress reliver if you have one, should help some.

That or dig em up and re-plant them in moist potting soil with no extra fertilizer or whatever your choice of soil. But, messing with those tender fragile sprouts can easily damage them. I guess you gotta balance the dangers of digging them up with the dangers of letting them start in over-fertilized soil.

Good idea with the back-up germination plan! Plant em once you see the tap root showing. If one has come out, the rest (of the viable ones) are soon to follow! Just plant em.

yea im thinking about just getting a container and plantin every seed in there and put it under the light and replant them as they sprout

Oh yea and i also forgot to mention that after germination with the first seeds i planted them and touched them with my hands so idk im thinkin about just starting over i already have 1 new seed in the ground. And i did everything right for that one.

Thats what i said man, if you dont & you've used a strong strength nute solution, you will either kill them or stunt them, either way they'll be skrewed, flushing is a simple & effective remedy to your problem, it the only way to go man, digging shit up was'nt nessesary man. Flush & you'll be fine. There are clearing solutions for over ferting that would'nt be a bad idea either, like Canna Flush for instance. G'Luck Man.

Sounds like a little impatience... give them a chance, they aren't miracle overnight plants.. next time invest in some rapid rooter plugs and cheap tray n dome.. possibly a heatmat.. and watch your seedlings smoke thru with flying colors!... mine take a few days to pop the surface.... growth is always slow to start. Use a rich soil mix .. and there will be no need for nutrients for the first few weeks atleast.

I have a 90% germ rate using kelp and a 100% survival rate using kelp from day one. Its the nutrients in miracle grow that you have to worry about.
Let them get some air and just enough moisture to keep the shell damp. Plant your new seeds in a unfertilized medium as soon as they have good tails. If you have more plants then plant the extras outside or give them to a friend.

Depends on what medium I plan on growing in ... soil or hydro.

For soil, soak in water with a drop of superthrive till they sink or 24 hours, whichever comes first. Then, in a shallow seed tray, place on soil and cover with a very thin dusting of soil. Place seed tray on a thermostat controlled seedling heat mat & keep soil temp at 80. Have a T5 lamp about 4" above the soil. Using a spray bottle, I mist the soil daily, but I do not saturate it.

For hydro, I use rapid rooters presoaked in 6.5 ph water with very diluted nutes which are then squeezed out till just moist. Insert those into the cubed seedling trays & keep humidity dome over them at 80 F with the T5 just over the humidity dome. Keep the rooters just moist but not saturated.

I have also used the paper towel method, but I think that unless you get them into your medium the moment the "tail" emerges, risk of damage or disease increases exponentially. Why not just germ in the medium you intend to root in? I know there are many threads and topics about germination. These methods just seem to work for me.
