Mineral oil? Could you tell me more about this method? I'm always looking for tips on long-term seed preservation. Thanks!
i will try Chimera's method and hope for the best, ill keep you all updated
Sterilize the seed using 30% ETOH for 30 seconds, and then rinse with autoclalved sterile water 5 times for 15 seconds each rinse.
Plant the seeds using sterile technique on 1/2 strength MS medium containing 10 g/L sucrose, 5.5 g/L agar, pH 6.8, @ 25 degrees Celcius under florescent light for 16 h per day.
If they have a shot, and you can manage to get them into the Petri dishes/jars using sterile technique, this should bring them to life.
Good luck,

A guy I know just popped about 25 seeds from the 60's. He just put em outside in the ground. He told me later that he didn't expect any to grow, but all of em are growing beautifully now.
I traded him for 4 of the seedlings are just a couple days ago I moved 2 females and a male out doors to finish out a seed grow.
I would agree about just testing a few as usual. They might pop without any additional bs.
i would love to see a grow on this. will you document it?
this thread has inspired me. im going to start a new thread right now with some late 90's bagseed.
