For the money you spent on two 150watt hps I would of gone with a 600watt for about the same total price. :p

This is something interesting for sure. :D

True, but being without a good income. I didn't want to have 600 watt HPS running 18hrs a day.
I also plan to pickup a 1000 watt kit when I find work. A switchable ballast, So I can pick up a MH bulb

Cheap lights!!!

Cheap lights!!!

wat cfl at wal mart under 9 bucks....a couple of those is good for a veg. I made a reflector out of a 4 inch HVAC sleeve, duct tape and lampclip...all from walmart..
42

also here is a cheap 400 watt hps light I bought while I was on unemployment vacation too. I recently added glass, holes and sealed up just the bulb portion....4 inch inline duct fan exhaust and house tower fan for intake...next step is removing the balast to another portion of closet..this will require disassembly voiding any warranty.. but it works...I have attic grow closet used to have temps of 198 to 110 sometimes extreme 120 at canpoy...now the range 85 to 98 ...a little warm still but I credit that to the ballast...

this is where I plan on housing ballast..mounted on something heat resistant and flame retardant, top portion of closet

Kidding, I love that stuff. Best stuff since sliced bread

These seemed more tempting.
32 bucks for a 4' fixture and 6500k HO bulb included. (2' available for about 8 bucks less)
add 14 bucks for a reflector.
CFL'S project light into themselves.
