Try taking both chiles...a few and sample them. Definitely the habanero is ready. If too hot, water/drench, wait an hour then pluck. Be careful when handling them....eye scratch or other parts of the body and really heat up handling with bare hands. Good idea to wear latex gloves when deveining/scraping chile seeds out.

Sometimes due to pigmentation, peppers turn black before their true color. If it turns black and remains black (or orange/red with purplish-black patches), it is due to the specific cultivar of pepper, although this is somewhat uncommon.

Thai chiles are ready to be plucked.

i have harvested the first bigger aubergine and the habanero that had a dry stem.
i will harvest the thai chillis and the last 2 habaneros when the sun decides to shine again.

any advice for stevia. should i dry it and use it over winter or does it need to be fresh?

i have harvested the habaneros and a heap of thai chillis. a few days later the thai chilli plant was full again. i guess i should be searching for a chilli sauce recipe in food porn :)
