Most narcotic strain against insomnia

i have grown up over 8-9 maybe 10 different strains this year.

They all suck when it comes to sleep.
what are these? let's post those strains at least which didn't work so people have a list to avoid if they look for sleepy down indica.

if you have a picture and description (picture, look, smell, growth pattern, etc) of this "magic" strain perhaps one day someone could recognize it.

I think it matters a lot what you do when you smoke, or after you smoke.

The smoke will help relieve some body stress.

But it works better when it's part of 'something bigger' - like taking a hot bath, but not on an empty stomach.

Good meal + Cannabis + hot bath, better than just the Cannabis.

Of course if someone was making a list of healthy activities that tend to promote sleepiness, Quality Nookie would have to be on the list.

I suffer from insomnia. What rasputin said has merit.

When you dont dream you get no rem sleep, which is what you need to rest and heal.

The more shit I take to sleep the worse my sleep quality is.

If I can't go to sleep I will do whatever I have to, xanax, attivan , valium, whatever. But that sleep in no way compares to working or hunting until exhaustion smoking a joint and falling asleep a couple hours later.

These are personal observations, not something I have read.:tiphat:
Yea, some strains "hang over" longer than others, while some have no hang over at all.
But there is a difference if you go to sleep "wasted" or you used little cannabis to help you fall a sleep. I do feel very heavy smoking from the day before, esp. if i smoked the whole day and long into the night. But if i only smoke few joints in the evening, i can't say i feel anything negative.
Maybe it's those benzos you take that will make you feel shitty in the morning. Never had any so i dunno. I don't like pharma-drugs and i try to avoid those as much as i can.

When i looked into the topic of REM-sleep, i gathered they say dreaming many times occur during REM-sleep = in another words, dreams are not a sign of REM-sleep and apparently there is also non-REM-dreaming. So dreaming does not mean "quality sleep".

To me it's nonsense that if you don't have dreams, you're sleep hasn't been good. I sometimes have very vivid dreams and i can't say i'd have noticed i slept better if i dreamed alot, prolly just the opposite.
Logic tells me that i'm not getting full rest if i have to experience dreams. Dreams need my perception to work = work is NOT rest
..But i'm sure internet is full of professionals that will tell me otherwise, regardless if they suffer from sleeping disorders themselves.

I have some Northern lights, Orange grove, and a nice bag seed plant drying at the moment. I'm in the middle of cleaning all the stems and fans leaves off, separating the insane amount of seeds I made, and completely shredding the bud to put into jars for the curing process. Going to be experimenting with different methods of tincture, hash tea, and maybe a few edibles for sleep.

I use indica strains for sleeping. I take meds that keep be wired for a chronic health condition. I normally need help sleeping, so I usually just decarb some trim/ popcorn bud and make a ticture with it. I’ve found a combo of Pineapple Chunk, Northern Lights and some Afghan will knock me out. I don’t know what the dosage is, since I make it myself. But Pineapple Chunk works really well by itself, probably because it has a bit of cbd in it and a nice amount of thc.

To be honest the best genetics are coming from the US and not some Dutch SeedBank’s or Spain bait and swap hemp seeds lol
1. All weed is based on landrace seeds and crosses thereof. That's why people go back to Colombian Gold 1972, or germ really old seeds. There is no such thing as 'outdated genetics' from 20 years ago.

Real kush can only be indica. It's named for the Hindu Kush mountains in Afghanistan/Pakistan, where only indica grows historically. OG Kush though, it's just hijacking the name, it's a sativa dominant hybrid
2. Very few strains are 100% indica.

You'd have to go back to landrace strains like: Afghani #1. Harder to grow: Real Seeds Company: Mazar-i-Shariff; World Of Seeds: Pakistan Valley, Ketama, Afghan Kush.

Aurora Indica from Nirvana - which I grew out myself a decade ago, is a backcross with Afghani #1. (Not my photograph.)

I love God Bud

I love God Bud

Someone said "God Bud" from Jordan of the Islands. Two more from Jordan of the Islands, are Deep Purple and Purple Kush! All are very good sleepers! So far they have been reliable, easy to grow, and fast flowering plants for me! Plus, they have really good prices too! I have never been disappointed with their gear.

Would be great if the Analytical companies could offer a "Med patient" special.

Send in 3 favorite strains, e.g. for insomnia, then get a reading of what their chemistry is.

How does chem analysis differentiate between Indica & Sativa ? Seems like both have abundant THC.

Start looking up terpene and cannabinoid science. Tons of new info coming out. Seems every single difference has an effect. To much of one or not enough of another can totally change its effects. Gets beyond complicated and thats before considering the physiology of the user.

My favorite smoke is something I bred. Not that I am a great breeder but because I found plants that I liked and then mixed and found what works better. I do not think everyone should be making seeds. But I do think it may be the simplest way to find someones perfect smoke. Then test that.

I find testing interesting. But I think its more a handy tool for comparing. Instead of using it too pick what might work. Find what works, find what dont work and test them all. Once you can see the clear similarities and differences. Thats where the good information is.

Hello all

I will check all your tips, thanx a lot to all of you :)

Goddam this is a Jungle today. To many different breeders.

Northern Light example. Sensi Seeds is original.
Last time i got totally wrong Northern lights. Wrong breeder.
These was 70% indica 30 sativa.
WHY DO THEY CALL IT NORTHERN LIGHT ?
SO STUPID.

Real Northern light is atleast 90% Indica.

Many make them 80% indica atleast.'
My last one was only 70% indica i found out later, the company self says 70% indica
30% Sativa.

WARNING.

Look up the breeder and their strain at couple different pages before buy.
Not all Northern Light and others is same, the breeders makes big difference.

I wish my last seed was called NORTHERN LIGHT SPECIAL, or Northern Light2
Because it was so different from original.

I will talk to that company manager someday and say why he does this.
He must change the name to second, third, special, or something more than just Northern Lights.

i read at many different sites NL was best for sleep .
Maybe yes, if i buy Sensi, or something with 90% Indica.
The sites newer told the story was about SENSI SEEDS.
They dont say breeder.

So look up things before you buy the nice strain, breeders makes them different .

Today i search for OG KUSH example, there was 30+ breeders, all different genetics when i look at them from strain database.
This is gambling
I dont like this.

Call it OG KUSH DANISH MANSION LUXURY is better than call it OG KUSH if it not the original genetics, and they doesnt exist maybe anymore in seeds. CHANGE THE STRAIN NAMES PLEASE then

they will not.
Double check breeders version of that everything before buy

Good luck all :)

Anyone try OG FIRE by Burning Nurserey Feminized ? Are they ok ?

Testing :)

These are good, real OG almost i think. Not good for sleep. They are SATIVA DOMINANT. sorry OG KUSH is not good for sleeping.
Rappers get energic too, they sing a lot crap you all know this :)

Heavy sleep is needed. No OG KUSH then.

peace brothers and sisters

jrelax, Peak Seeds BC has a very good Northern lights. NL is one of the more reproduced strains out there with many breeders having their own take on it. That's why there are all these little name variations... Northern lights, Northern light, Northernlights, etc. From what everyone has said Sensi's NL is not what is used to be.

I've looking for a decent NL for years and I couldn't find it. I had some very good ones in 90s and 2000s but they are gone. I stick now to a cut of Black Domina, that as also dissapeared in seed form, but this is stronger and tastier than NL. NL was happy relaxing weed.

Cheers and good luck

BD is def good for sleep! If you want a s1 version of BD check out sweet seeds Afghani SAD. It´s a selfed BD.

The most sleep inducing strain I have is Knightsbridge OG by Lady Sativa Genetics. Once won 1st place Indica at a IC 420 cup.

Also Sensi Star by Paradise Seeds is good for sleeping disorders.

Peace
Ace
