I'm a bit frustrated.

No need to take more pics, just yet

When I do take pics, I will try to remember to turn off the hot5 so we can see how much love the 2 BML light bars are bringing

The probable female that I moved from the led tent upstairs to the hot5 (now hot5 + BML bars) a week ago is taking her sweet Fn time to show me some pistils

No way she's a he, but damn girl, show me some love

The BM (Big Mexican) female has tentacles all over the place. I snapped her top in order to make for more even light between the two plants. She hardly missed a beat, the 8" above the snap turned up to the light over night

LED

Everything is moving along.

The BM male has lots of new branching.

The bifurcated female is now ~ 12" with 8 new branches on each stalk

hey pet flora

they are not easy to sex. the only time they are is fom clone and root bound. but by then you already know. be patient. the ones that take the longest generally tend to be fems, and the ss is no exception to that rule

So you don't think I should smack her around a little?

I am not partial to any until after I smoke them

BM will be good for business though

I don't sell as much as I barter

Restaurant and bar people love my tips

hi petflora,

your setup is pretty cool! it looks like you have some biological filtering going on there with the rocks, sweet!

thanks for the pics

Welcome Woolybear and thanks

Last night I lowered the on time to below 12hrs.

it was at ~ 12.3hrs, which could have been on the high side for the shorter plant

OK, folks, it's official...

We have pistils :woohoo:

I dumped the rez, which had climbed to >1300ppm

so the ladies are drinking more water right now

fresh nutes at ~ 650ppm

First pic is with 2 BML light bars by themselves

I noticed that the air stones weren't putting out, so I drained the led bubble rez and cleaned the air stones. Found a few mosquito larvae, so good thing I dumped

Basically just soak the stones in H2O2 + neutral soap, while bubbling

Lots more bubbles now

Fresh nutes ~ 180ppm

Clones had not taken, so I trimmed the stems and scrapped them (something I do, but had not)

BML tells me they hope to ship my SPYDR600 this week

I will replace the hot5 when it arrives

Everything is advancing very nicely

I am doing a test in the led tent with the plant that had the fused leaf. After fiming, it bifurcated, which is normal

However, I decided to cut one top off to see how the lower leaf nodes would respond

One of the lower branches has shot up and as I suspected, the uncut stem is growing much faster

What's especially interesting is because I have clones I cut nute ppm to ~ 200

However, both the BM male that I cut down, and the fused plant, are growing quite nicely

Hmmmmm. Have I been wasting nutes in veg?

HOT5

The BML bars have been in there for ~ a week, but positioned well below the canopy. Since BMM is sat it doesn't have that much bud below ~ 12", so I raised the bars to better light the heavy budding area

First pic is from LED tent

Here's is some excellent 411 that could have a HUGE impact on your yield

I keep meaning to do this but...

After reading it, I compared temp/RH in my led tent to my hot5

The led tent is closer to sweet spot than hot5, which is way out of the sweet spot range

The led tent plants have tighter nodes, more leafs/bushier- though different phenos.

Definitely an indication that I needed/need to do introduce some RH in the hot5 ASAP

Easy to do, just use pond foggers. I have several, but all the ceramic discs have gone bell up, so I need to hit the pet store

Last night I decided to change nutes in the hot5 rig, not recalling how long it had been. Somehow, I neglected to mention doing so here. The last I found was in my hand written notes- May 5th, so definitely overdo, especially at this stage of development

I also cleaned the filter inside one of pumps. Yuck! Even with the nylon footie it was cruddy (or was it bennies?), HR V +B is not organic so...?????

Job done

Buds are growing like crazy

Pics tomorrow

Received an email from BML that my SPYDR has new tech diodes, and that my bars have gen 1 tech.

I asked if future bars will also have the new tech, but have not heard back yet

I was told my light was tested and is very bright.

Probably won't have it until Friday

Although the grow has been moving along nicely, RH has been below required for the temps throughout

Pistils are a tad thinner (less fluffy) than they should be

I ordered a 20mm Pond Fogger, which should be here any day now

I will put it on a timer to dial in optimal RH

It will not be on after lights out

Giving them a bump. I mixed fresh nutes to replenish @ 1000ppm. Once the 2.5g is gone I will drop back to ~ 700

I have excellent success cloning, but for whatever reason (probably my laziness to do all steps) the first batch of clones did not root.

They were still alive, but I decided to take 2 new cuts from Shorty and 2 from the female (I hope) in my led tent: BMM is just too damn big

I scraped the bottom 1" and sliced the stem to create more root sites.

I just finished installing the SPYDR

Some assembly required

Since I already was in mid grow and had the hot5 in place, I simply raised the HOT5 above where the 600 was to go

I could do that as I have a tall frame and the room is dark, so not tent required

Since my frame is ~ 2 x 4 and the 600 spine is 3ft (and the bars slide perpendicular on the spine) I turned the spine sideways and assembled it in place, sliding the bars inward. That made assembly a bit more of a chore than if assembled on the ground and then inserted

It turned on with no drama

First thing I noticed is the green is more pronounced than under the hot5, but, the color balance is different

It seems to throw off less heat. Time will tell once the ballast heats up

I left the 2 side bars

First thing I noticed this morning is the 15” below the canopy is much brighter than with my hot5 :)

I also hooked up the fogger but not expecting too much as the area might be too big for much gain with a single head
