Making Our Own Dry Ice?

Going through some serious dry ice and was wondering if there is a viable way to make it...

Im now going to use a fire extinguisher or co2 tank. And im not going to spend $10k on a commercial maker...

Need to make around 40-50 lbs a day...

Anyone have any ideas or know how to do this?

Have you done the math on that? From the math I have done, it does not add up. Mind as well find a commercial company. Just buy di in bulk and be done with it.

Why not just use a freezer? depending on what you're doing with it, but for our 100Lbs recovery tank we bought a small chest freezer that perfectly housed it.

our tane is constantly at -20 now. during recovery the tank only heated up about 5 - 10 degrees so the tane was still -10

math on that is 12.3lbs dry ice out of a 50lb tank with a dip tube....(most generous assumption)

if a non-com account fill cost $20 (regionally how does that sound?)

$1.62 a lb? ....

ave retail price in my area is much closer to $1 lb..
