Lumatek 1000w sound

Hi!

I can hear a little buuzzing (like the magnetic ballast do) but not as loudtiny. In fact its not audible at more than 2 feets from the ballast but I think it was not doing that before!! Its his third grow!!!

Its normal?

None of my lumi 600s do it or the 2 1k digis I own. Call Lumatek and see what they say.

There is no fan in the lumatek ballast!!

I have read others that have this buzz on the 1k.. Exchange it if you can.. I have 3 600 no buzz..

1000w? Do you hear really close? Because when I have a lot of noise in my room I can't hear it...

Check to make sure it's not the bulb buzzing....

I have a few 600's and no buzz. I also have a 400 and no buzz.

The buzzing you hear is the transformer- thats normal. the digis are coated with resin to quiet things down. youll hear it when she fires up,till she warms up, then just slight at proper operating temps.

Eye, why than ¸everybody I ask if their lumatek ballast are buzzing say 100% no?

Like you say, my ballast make a buzzing sound at the opening and when the temp get higher the sound is smaller. But 1 month ago I could barely notice something...now its not as loud as magnetic but its definately louder than 1 month ago.

dont sound good mate! are you able to return it to the retailer? set up a spare light in the meantime... rather have peace of mind than worry about it!
