...if your reality includes huge tax increases, foreign and/or domestic wars, political correctness, further corruption and theft by expanded government, aside from the liberties you now enjoy...being taken away aka 2nd amendment, freedom of religion, free speech, property rights ...

Every single time we have a Presidential election the NRA and the recipients of their bribes (GOP) run that bullshit out there, "oh the libs are gonna take our guns!"
The 3 biggest changes to gun laws in several decades are, 1) Reagan took away some of your ownership rights 2) Obama gave you more rights by allowing guns to be carried in National Parks and 3) Don the Con signed a bump stock ban.

I'm just about positive that the NRA, the GOP, the ammunition manufacturers and the gun manufacturers are all working together to increase the sale of those products every time sales lag simply by saying, "the liberals are coming!"

Joe Biden said he would ban assault weapons (specifically AR-14's lol) on national television but nice try though.

Joe Biden said he would ban assault weapons (specifically AR-14's lol) on national television but nice try though.

"Following the weekend shootings, Biden told CNN's Anderson Cooper that he would push for a federal gun buyback program in an attempt to take more weapons off the streets. He said he supports universal background checks, and said assault weapons "should be illegal. Period."
Asked in the interview about criticism that if elected president he would take away people's guns, Biden responded, "Bingo! You're right if you have an assault weapon." He said the Second Amendment doesn't say the government can't restrict what kind of weapons people can own -- "You can't buy a bazooka, you can't have a flame thrower," he told Cooper."

DAMN !!!

looks like Biden will be the next (senile) president.

and his AR14 goof will not help us.

SHIT !!!

they do not like Semi-Auto's.

time to downsize the collection perhaps.

of course if they make it a combination Buyback/ Economic Stimulus and give us $2000 per ... and let us keep the scope ? :kitty:

What is it with the AR15? Up here you can't even hunt deer with them. Caliber is too small. Is it a girl's gun like a 20 gauge?

All guns should be melted down. We should only be allowed to walk around with swords. A real man's weapon.

"buy backs" here would be incredibly expensive, and probably ignored by most gun owners. no one in right mind is gonna go door to door in America saying shit like "we are here to take your guns". Biden saying "assault weapons should be illegal" is just his opinion, everyone has 'em. they are not law, and Congress would have to vote on it. they listen to the folks back home...if they want to be re-elected. what do politicians crave MORE than being elected? re-elected...:chin:

legal for deer hunting here. so is a 20 gauge. just as deadly as a 12 at normal hunting ranges, just fewer pellets in pattern. if you are IN the pattern, it does not matter much if it contains 200 or 300 pellets...buttloads of turkey hunters etc going with 3" 20 gauge magnums these days, lighter gun to carry, less recoil.

Watch it. It's the President's opinion. The Trudeau government, which I mostly support, really fucked us making all assault rifles illegal. There's a set time to turn them in (buy back) then you're out of luck. The idiocy of it is that they overnight made every owner criminals because it came into force immediately. So turn them in during the set time and it's an amnesty. To make matters worse, and ya it gets worse - the number of illegal weapons is about 1500, many not considered assault weapons at all.

----------
The following nine (9) types of firearms and their variants are now prohibited:

M16, AR-10, AR-15 rifles and M4 carbine
Ruger Mini-14 rifle
M14 rifle
Vz58 rifle
Robinson Armament XCR rifle
CZ Scorpion EVO 3 carbine and pistol
Beretta CX4 Storm carbine
SIG Sauer SIG MCX and SIG Sauer SIG MPX carbine and pistol
Swiss Arms Classic Green and Four Seasons series (as specified in former Bill C-71)

Also now prohibited are firearms with the following characteristics:
- Capable of discharging a projectile with a muzzle energy greater than 10,000 Joules.
- A bore of 20 mm or greater. (10 & 12 Gauge are treated differently.)
- Upper receivers of M16, AR-10, AR-15 and M4 pattern firearms are also now prohibited devices.

I'm a believer in gun control, but this is ridiculous. All this will do is remove guns from responsible legal owners. Instead of removing the guns, they should just make the penalty for violent criminal activity with any weapon (knives included) mandatory 30 years in jail. No parole. If they released pot smokers, growers and sellers from jail, they'd have lots of room to spare.

I have to say this:
After the Covid Lockdown and Stay at Home orders, which I fully supported, I want a handgun, several riffles and lots of ammo. I feel the world dodged a bullet with Covid. If it was only a little worse, and that's not a stretch or even unrealistic, people without food would be killing you and your family for yours.

Firearms Acquisition Certificate & Hunting licence here I come.

i'm keeping my animals close to home.

I feed them twice during the afternoon so they stay close to home.

Don't want to deal with the anger that will occur if one of my neighbors kills them.

agree with nearly all that you say/post (here and elsewhere). not sure how it is in Canada, but here (as trump found out too late:tongue:) the Presidents opinion does not mean much. the limits to his power are many...

for all the faux Republican Trump supporters who are convinced they're anti- Socialist

well that didn't stop them from taking PPP money.

Therefore, Socialism for the Rich is OK.

The US is on its way to being mostly, government spending.

centralized economy.

just like the USSR & 20th century China.

Yes, and this is why I rarely argue with capitalists. Because the truth is, socialism versus capitalism is an engagement with philosophical masturbation; there are no practical examples in the modern world for which to compare.

The United States is not, and has never been, a capitalist nation. America is not, and has never been, a democratic republic.

America is an oligarchy with socialism for The Chosen, and rugged, brutal individualism for the proletariat. Understanding this is fundamental to understanding modern Western life.

Thus, the only question for the chattering classes is this: How long are you going to eat shit under the guise of 'muh bootstraps!' imaginary fantasy land? When are you going to demand your piece of the pie?

We pumped more money into the system last week for a 12 hour stock market bump than we need to pay off the student debt of every American alive. Capitalists can make peace with that in any number of ways, bitch about how "it's all bad" etc. At some point one must grow up, engage in the real world, accept the writing on the wall, and demand a taste.

That or die.

I'm happy to have my own home and piece of land, and I love the job I do everyday. You can paint whatever picture you want but I know what I want.

Nice day growers. It's all about one thing in principle. Human society must move to a higher standard of living. And that means avoiding eating meat. The whole of Covid is about that. A civilized person always tries to be tolerant of other living beings. There is unnecessary violence against so many animals. Also on soil, water. In fact, we are committing violence against ourselves.
Of course, we need to know how to eat. This is an excellent source of Vedic literature and thus of the original Vedic gastronomy. Ghee is an amazing substance .....
An intelligent person is simply a gentleman.
If we can do that, a lot of things will be done automatically. I am sure.

It is important to leave big cities, but also cities. There will be a massacre. You have to live honestly again. Locally. Have your basic food. Milk, ghee, cream, cottage cheese, a little grain, vegetables, fruits, quality legumes such as mung dal, also some malt-honey for example. Many foods are already sweet, so you don't need much sugar. But it is needed. I know it's not easy to do. But this is the solution. Also the use of bull traction. The two oxen have amazing strength. They are calm and humble and yet so important to human society. The horses are fine too. But oxen are better for agriculture.

several countries in asia forced citizens out of cities into the countryside, resulting in mass starvation. massacre resulting EXACTLY from what you propose, nice. bull traction? bullshit. it is utterly impossible to return to the stone age. after the next war, that might be all that is left, but i sure as hell do not advocate that solution to our problems. stop eating meat? no, sorry.
