Light Rail 3.5 rebuild ...... anyone?

my light mover is getting noisy. when i push on the end of the motor shaft the noise stops so i figure there is too much end play..... and it can't be repaired. a new mover costs $240 but i think i found the motor (with recent upgrades from the manufacturer) for around $80. has anyone out there already tried to rebuild one of these? did you run into any problems while you were doing it?

LR3'S are pretty simple just make sure that the noise is the motor not the gearbox try holding the drive wheel with your thumb to load the gears and listen this should help identify where the noise originates
cleaning the drive rubber with alcohol or soap and water helps prevent slip and premature wear.

thanks frank!
this is a gear box problem. the drive wheel and spring were replaced not to long ago. the gear box and motor are one assembly from what i am seeing, i am just not sure about the rivets that it is mounted on. are they stainless steel pop rivets, threaded caps or some other thing that will make life interesting once i get it apart? without seeing the new motor i don't even know if the holes for the rivets are machined into the casing or if that is a tweek that light rail does in their shop.

looks like a simple rebuild as far as the tech part goes, but i know how complicated simple stuff gets at the worst possible time.
