Quick update

O.G. Kush, flowering day 51 into flowering, I'm going to give her 6
more days for a boxing day harvest

The jungle canopy, I have already taken out 5 of them because some
of the leaves were runty and misshapen.

I'm glad I found this video because I was beginning to think the O.G. looks strange

Harvest

Harvest

The O.G. Kush at harvest had a slight minty smell and hints of lemon,
the chlorophyll was very pungent, actually not that nice, but the curing
process will denature it and bring out a lovely bouquet. I think the
mint will come out on top after a few weeks.

20151225_231902.jpg

I wasn't too impressed with the yield but the kush had really solid buds
that are well formed and tight. The calyxes looked great and round
bursting with juice. The buds were only lightly covered in glittering
dust, not much and nothing to write home about, but apparently the O.G
is damn potent so most of the THC must reside in the flowers. As I
said the nugs are solid and they look like a natural sponge as if you
can aleady see that they wont lose their shape when most of the water
has evaporated. I absolutely LOVE weed like this. Quality over QTY I
guess.

20151225_232112.jpg

I'm using a clean Styrofoam box with tinting silica pearls that change
colour when they are saturated. When they all turn blue then I leave
the lid open until they have dried up again this also gives the green
some air, I always try to cure as slowly as possible. its also possible
to cure in a refrigerator but because of the cold the chlorophyll
doesn't degrade as well.

The Purple Haze Grow:

I have taken out about 15 plants because of various leaf deformities.
Some of them had some strange yellow lines in the fingers and
others had some crippled fingers.
I find it strange that the F2s have very broad fingers in comparison
to the mother plants:

21025Tue_25_Sep_2007_2.jpg

Maybe because they are still too young. The leaves also seem to
have a much softer structure than the mother plants at the same
age.

I have topped 4 or 5 of my favourites. In a couple of days I will
start to transplant a few in to their own pots. the ones I have pulled
have all had tiny root systems compared to their bodies.

This picture is from the last grow, something to look forward to :dance013:

I went a bit crazy today and thinned the heard to about 24 plants, here
is a picture of the forest before the culling spree

2015-12-272018.20.08.jpg

Found a little runt and thought "wow this is the tiniest plant I have
ever seen", I will keep it just out of curiosity.
I was pretty rigorous with the selection process. Since there are
many plants to choose from it wasn't just crippled leaves that had
to make way. I also looked for plants with the best sativa traits to
keep.

Greetings from around the world

Greetings from around the world

great canopy shots of my vegging sativas enjoy:

[Sings]
My face above the Sativa
My feet can't touch the ground,
Touch the ground, and it feels like
I can see the weed on the horizon
Every time you are not around

[Chorus:]
They're slowly vegging away (vegging away)
Day after day, wave after wave
They're slowly vegging away (vegging away)
And it feels like I'm stoning
flying in the dream
flying in the dream

I wish I could smoke it easy
Easy to grow it, grow it
But still I reach
To find a way
I'm stuck here in between
I'm looking for the right words to say

[Chorus:]
[Chorus:]
They're slowly vegging away (vegging away)
Day after day, wave after wave
They're slowly vegging away (vegging away)
And it feels like I'm stoning
flying in the dream
flying in the dream

I think some of them are trying to show sex now. I really hope they
flower during the winter so I can select the most purple:

topping and culling

topping and culling

trying to maintain some dignity for the plants I culled one and topped
the others.

03021601.jpg

Still waiting on some definitive sexing they have pretty much been in
flower since the day they came out of the ground in regards to light
anyway. I have been feeding them but I have stopped feeding them
about 1 week ago. They drink quite a lot so the nutes should be used
up pretty soon

They have finally started showing sex!

They have finally started showing sex!

I went on a killing spree today because I noticed yesterday that the
guys and girls started showing signs of sex so I thinned the heard to
3 females and 2 males. The males will also be halved once I can see
some purpling on one of them.

Beautiful lanky Sativa leaves and even some elongated calyxes.
This is the beginning of something very beautiful.

PURPLE

PURPLE

There is some serious purple going on now with the oldtimer purple haze.
I really hope the male and female flowers will catch some of that
beautiful colour:peacock:

got bored with waiting

got bored with waiting

I got bored with waiting for the OTH to flower so i put up another grow
tent and added a new family member

02051601.jpg

I got rid of the 400 watt NDL and purchased one 700W
and one 900W full spectrum LED for the grow tent and the flowering
tents respectively.

02051602_1.jpg

At the same time I thought shit these things are loud so I did some
research and found some fans with a higher amount of air flow and
a lower level of DB and also lower maximum rpm at 120mm.

02051603_1.jpg

02051601_1.jpg

They are doing fine and the temps are great.
I have the carbon filter from the flowering tent blow the air into the
growing tent soe both tents have somewhat air circulation.

Thanks GastroGrower.
I have a feeling the purple in the stem came from a nutrient
deficienty, I fed them and they have since taken another growth
spurt and this has no purple in the stem. It could be that there
was a major potassium deficiency.

Purple #1 under 900W LED I had to adjust the light settings because
the LED makes the pictures dark purple. The 700W LED is much whiter.

They are under 700W LED but that hasn't stopped them stretching.
the purple #1 has really tight dense internodes under the 900W and
the light is reasonably far away. the difference in genetics is huge.

The male has already popped a few prematurely but that's fine the
ladies have caught up well and I hope they will purple some more
but unfortunately the winter is over and the temps have risen. They
come from purple parents, so there is still hope that they carry some
purple genetics but I will just catch some pollen and save it as this
was the best male from 50 plants.

Those last pics were exactly as I had alway imagined they would be super skinny leaves even the male suitor! Best of Luck, LT
