N. gluaca contains no nicotine but a very similar chemical sometimes in trace amts in other Nicotiana sp. too (e.g. N. tabacum) which is anabasine. it is very similar to nicotine, but a longer duration and some diff effects, some find is rather unpleasant compared to nicotine, its effects can be aborted easily by smoking some regular tobacco because nicotine will outcompete anabasine for acetylcholine receptors and then the anabasine will be metabolized out of the system
myself, i lately have been enjoying the sun cure, and also harvesting brown up leaves which are still relatively clean from the growin plants. but i dont smoke much tobacco at all, but i do love it and love to grow it. the N. sylvestris when full size and in full bloom are prob one of the nicest Nicotianas, and at night, the smell of jasmine is so intense, they are lovely.
