That leathery, hashy, incensey, very Colombian terpene profile comes from Haze A, and not from NL.
I'm not a NL expert, i have grown NL genetics mostly in hybrids, and the other part of the hybrid always dominates for smell/taste, so NL is not very dominant for terpenes, although NL hybrids are usually heavy in effects, even when crossed with pure sativas in F1s.

@Consolidated I don't think Northern Lights had much of a smell in the first place. The first time I ever grew weed was in 2004, and I grew some Northern Light and AK47 clones selected by the grow shop Kanopia. They were well known around Valencia and everyone was growing them. The NL had almost no smell or taste. If anything a little like mushrooms or forest or something like that (what they call earthy I guess).

My plants are doing fairly well but I got nailed with a Nute deficiency big time. Hoping I finally stopped it. The images below is of only one plant, the faster flowering taller Pheno. Both plants are similar though. This is 4 1/2 weeks after flip. No smell really yet.

Humidity in my grow tent is often times higher than the temp. 77% last night. @dubi or anyone... can ka5h handle this high humidity? I have a dehumidifier but would rather not run. What is a good humidity setting for these plants if I run the dehumidifier? Thanks everyone.

Humidity today in the tent 83%... I turned on the dehumidifier.
These images are the sister plant that got hit pretty good with cal/p deficiency looks like to me. She’s doing ok. Little different bud growth on this one.

hey all, nice pics

got 10 KillerA5 directly from Ace, started in April.

fried 3 seedlings (oups).

got 2 surprisingly squat and branchy ones, still narrow leaves and long flowering.
the rest are big and respond well to training, overall easy to grow. but I think i got 2-3 really slow/long ones, they barely started shooting stigmata.
one A5ish looking one that I might keep (best overall for growing at least) thats surprisingly "loud" and shes the furthest along too.

so 3 out of the remaining 7 are really hazy/tropical - the rest are more manageable indoors but still long flowering. for anyone doubting the "narrow leaveness" of this line mine are well narrow leave and tropical looking

Thanks for your joinning the thread and for sharing your comments on your Killer A5 Haze @aquavitae
If possible would love to have a look to the different phenos you are flowering!

Hi @blondie such humidity at night time is ok for Killer A5 Haze during first half of flowering, but if colas are getting too big and dense during second part of flowering (something common if the strain is properly grown and feed) then try moisture doesn't go higher than 60 %. Around 40-50 % is ideal range for this genetics in flowering.

Hey Sativa friends from all over the world,

Quick question: roughly when does a KA5Hz seedplant that was sexually mature at flip stop stretching?
I'm at the end of week 3 and they are still stretching slowly but surely nonetheless. (I don't have much height left actually)

They are basically the tallest in my grow room despite being the only ones that were topped (and they were mainlined to have 8 main colas at that not just simple topping).
They were about 10 inches at flip and now a little over 3 ft tall.

I launched some seeds of Greenhouse Super Lemon haze at the same time as the KA5Hz and even untopped, they had to be elevated to stay level with the KA5Hz.

The only taller plant is an NL5 Haze s1 seed plant that was not at all sexually mature at flip and not topped.

The other thing that amazed me with this variety is the insane vegetative vigor, not only do they stretch like crazy but they are also significantly faster than other varieties in veg.

I can't imagine growing these in Hydro with CO2. Must be real beasts. I'm already in love with how they grow.

I have not noticed them to be particularly nutrient hungry, I've been feeding all 17 plants in my grow (from 7 different varieties) with the exact same nutrient solution and same soil mix. They don't seem to be asking for more than the others so far. To be determined how they behave during their proper flowering cycle.

So far, only one of the Ka5Hz plants is showing some early resins, also happens to be the least stretchy one, so I assume she is the A5 / NL5 Haze dominant pheno?

Looking forward to being able to smell the unique bouquet I keep reading so much about here. Should be very different than everything else I have in there.

I don't have any individual photos of the KA5Hz (tent is so full, taking the plants out becomes a real chore and somewhat of a jigsaw puzzle to put them back)

Photos are as of 15 days from flip to 12/12 (almost a week ago), Switched to 11.5/12.5 as of the end of 2nd week and will switch to 11/13 for week 4.

High all. My faster flowering taller pheno. 8+ weeks after flip. Little crispy on the edges but going strong. Lower buds are showing a few brown pistils. My one seeded lower small bud is brown and dead with a full compliment of seeds, maybe 20. I’m chopping this bud soon before seeds fall out! Have not seen this behavior before. This thing just keeps stretching up top though. It may have stopped finally but seems it’s creeping ever so closer to the Martian sun.

Not sure what this pheno is. Tall thin and faster than her sister is. Both plants are untopped. Smell is fragrant, mildly fruity but not strong. I’m going to cob the whole thing.

Hi @blondie mmm when plant shows deficiencies, has lost all main leaves (and still needs time to finish) and leaves have burnt tips, then most probably ph and ec have not been correctly adjusted for the needs of this genetics. Do you measure both ? The revegging of the tops indoors in that way when lower buds are ripening is usually sign of too much heat on the tops and probably excess of nitrogen too.

Hi @thugpoet plants look healthy and happy :) thanks for sharing pics of each one. They will finish early flowering stretching usually by 5th week of flowering, longer flowering phenos by 6th, also depends on your temps and feeding with nitrogen, if these 2 variables are high then you can expect more stretching than usual.

Hi Dubi,

Fortunately, I have an AC so temps don't get above 25-26 C. I gave them mainly Nitrogen and cal mag for first two weeks (EC~1.0). They were starting to get slight tip burns so I backed off. I'll be feeding with mainly Phosphorus and Potassium from here on out, they should have enough N and micronutrients in reserves and soil to finish. They are not a very dark green now, so hopefully that means they don't have too much Nitrogen.

5th week, so maybe one more week of stretch. Hopefully, the 11/13 helps.

Do you think my pheno #4 has some Haze A vibes, or is it still too early to tell? I'm rooting for her even though she looks like she'll take 4 months to finish. She's not at all the stretchiest, but she looks the most like a NLD.

Most have started producing some early resin, I had to press my fingers to get a whiff. They all smell more or less like some kind of acrid Peachy Hazy light Church incense, reminds me a lot of Shanti's Mango Haze.

I'll keep you guys posted as they develop.

Cannamicably,

Thug :smoker:
