...I'd likely be inclined to throw the book through her picture window after hearing her response.
.

Well i hope for your sake the book in question is a hardback tome of some weight.
If it's a paperback you might be throwing it at the window for some time before it breaks :tiphat:

Alright, let's forget books as a whole and relate it to a more daily example and this is the last I have to comment.

The seller lied and defrauded the buyer. No way around it...Dishonesty is dishonesty. In my world, its not about $10...$20...$50k...It's about trust in ones word and principal. Perfect example as to how this effects others in real life.

I have a project slated to get underway really soon. I invariably need help in this endeavor. Few in my world can be trusted. Even fewer have the balls to pull it off. I have a childhood friend with absolutely nothing going for him in life. I realize deep down, he's an incredibly good guy.

Guy definitely has the balls to help me. He's a fairly intelligent guy...Problem is, his word is mud. I can't accept that. I need to know when somebody tells me something...It's the facts...No matter what. I'll accept nothing less in any relationship.

Had his word been good, he's stand to receive about a $150k windfall.

I gave him one last ''test'' over the weekend and he failed miserably...Sucks to be him.

I just realized I've invested far too much energy here and need a few more bong hits to chill out...

buyer beware

Next time open the bag and look at the book before you purchase it.

This! You can't blame someone else for your own mistake. It sucks, but it's the truth. Be glad this happened, so you'll know to be more careful in the future. 15$ isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things, very worth the life lesson you got that day. :comfort:

of course in an ideal world this wouldnt happen
...
ppl wouldnt lie and candy would fall from the sky and unicorns would dance around rainbows.

but shit like this happens. thats why you dont buy used crap from private sellers. especially not if you can get a new one for a dollar more. and if insist on being cheap you at least check out the goods before handing over cash. op will get over it.

What book was it? shame that the book isnt in as good a condition as the rest of your collection. What collection is it by the way?

if your giving it away i take it and sell it to mean mr mustard so he can sell it to some other dope who would buy something without looking at it when a dope clearly had the chance since the dope picked it up in person not through the mail.

Just give the book for free to someone who wants/needs it.
Then buy yourself a nice new copy.
Two rights from a wrong.
Put it down to experience.

Perhaps the real issue is that you are not forgiving yourself for making a basic mistake. Seems like the trust you gave out was not returned and it does hurt. Thank your lucky stars it only happened with a 15.00 book.

I think what your saying has some truth budly

but at the same time, being stuck with the book, reminds me of that mistake..

You should file a complaint with the BBB. Write a letter to your congressman, I'd also email CNN, Fox News, Date Line, 60 Minutes. This budding criminal mastermind must be stopped!

I would have to say your the Blame not the Chick, You should have Inspected the book and asked for pics if their wasn't any but to be honest with you ese` WTF!! it's less then a pizza so why are you crying over a $15.00 book!!

Plus you said for a Whopping $1.00 more you could have bought a brand new book well would that $1.00 have broke your bank account or force you to cancel your dinning night out with your loved one??
