I thought I was going to see a photo of a ten foot female plant from the title.
I have done outdoor spawn inoculation of morel a number of times, in many different settings, over the last 15-18 years...all with ZERO success.
One definite factor in them coming up on my lawn and not my neighbors is that my house has been unoccupied since November, and thus nothing has been mowed at alll, making for ground cover and pockets of good low shade.
I collect the spores (just keep the rinse water you wash them in), germinate parts of my garden that resemble where I found the first morels. This is called spore mass inoculation, and while it is very hit and miss as far as success goes, it is free every time you find good mushrooms.
Shameless thread jack; who sends spores to cali? I wanna farm me some doomers
I really don't understand why more don't send to cali.... It's illegal to ship seeds anywhere in the US and that shit goes down 24/7....
WORD> ive spent the last 6 months in vain trying to find an out of town friend who would ship me some spore syringes. i managed to get a few packages before they cracked down and made it illegal in like 2003, but after those few grows i havent been able to restart this!!
i have a few ounces of shrooms on me but i dont know where they came from, i like picking shrooms off my OWN harvest!
That is what I like about Americans and Canadians...they can find their own mushrooms. If you were French, you would have to train a pig to do that for you!
plus when you grow them yourself you have the pleasure of knowing your not eating cow dung! most indoor goomies are grown with brown rice flour, some people use horse manure but its mixed with compost and never touches the actual shroom.those were undoubtedly the dankest doomers ive ever had too, somethin about locally cultivated drugs just gets me off in a special way...

i just hate eating cow patch shrooms because i am a germaphobe and i dont like knowing theres poop on my mushrooms.
