Hawaiian...nice plants. We only had the frost here a few times. Came by boat. The Molokai boys soon figured out they could get a better price by going the other way to Oahu. Your budporn is always welcome...dogs too.

Get that baby frost into a bigger pot. You guys need some deep soil. The rest are looking good. If you had to can you move them in those trash cans?

I got a bigger leaf  Nice looking dog you got there. I have a soft spot in my heart for bulls. You only need a couple more and nobody will make a grab for your plants. Next time you get this way PM me.

aloha brother, yeah, my friend from moloka`i but lives here for years now, mean kine hunter and fisherman, super nice guy too, he gave me these frost beans years ago, only 10, and i planted only 5 and gave 5 away, maybe like 2003 or so i planted um, he named it the frost when he got here but originally it was known as molokai hash bud...he changed it while over here, i been crossing it, and keeping pure copies of it still...it is all outdoors, doesn't catch the diseases that most brought in strains do outdoors...good crosses pretty much...she is my baby, i still have one of the two females in clone from seed that i started in 2003, indo she go like 16 weeks easy, outdo, short season i pull um 2 months go figure, less sometimes :) stringy more, but chronic :) i going try start some again soon, i down to like f4 or so :)

frost got transplanted the day i wrote that...went over an he had it done already :) trash cans can be moved, the tkx(ssxfrost) is only one to show PM, but they are close together because lot is only 16,000 sq ft and houses all over, but oh well, old neighborhood...they have like 5 adult pits, and 7 puppies right now, i going get one soon, i still choosing which one, i go post pix when i get um in 5-6 weeks, they 1 week old :)

garauntee dat leaf is big, your plants are huge bro, it will be a pleasure to watch this shit finish!!! i am hoping for the best for you bro!

i let you know bro, sooner than later i going, i just like cruise, spark one up for shua :)

aloha bully!

Are We Having Fun Yet?

Are We Having Fun Yet?

For me the jury is still out. At the house many of my girls have gone past the big phase, and are now to the "you gotta be kidding me" phase. Nine of the 21 are 9 ft tall...or bigger....by July first. :dance013:

Yesterday was a scorcher. We easily made it to 80. No clouds, just sunshine. On hot days here the ground heating will actually cause wind to blow up the hill. At about 20 MPH. Yesterday that wind knocked four big branches off the plants and dropped them on the ground. Spent most of the day tying up branches.

I'm getting quite good at whipping the frames out. The only plant that isn't framed is the little Headband plant. Everything else has a frame, with almost all the bottom branched tied up. Good thing bamboo is free....because I'm using enough of it. Also found a good use for my old fishing line. Had to strip those reels anyway.

I'm giving the plants 7 to 15 gallons of water every other day, depending in the size, and where they are planted. Since everything is on driplines, I regulate how much water they get by adding drippers.

Well...todays the day. My partner went over the quad and it is ready to rock. Makawao Rodeo is going on. The long weekend is the perfect time to start checking plants in the cane. We are going to find out whats there, and if so what they look like.

We're doing this a month early, and we're not going to do any real work. I'm too early to pull males. A fast in and out will give us an idea if the patches we planted dry, took. Also if the three Green Harvests they flew hit or missed.

This could be real good, or real bad, or somewhere in between. I'm sure you all are getting tired of looking at the same old plants. Maybe....just maybe...we get to look at some new ones. I will know by dark.

Speaking of the same old tired plants....the obligitory house shots...

Glad those days are over.

Looking forward to more Canefield Chronicles.....you know how much fun it is for me when they chase your ass. As a favor to me....at least let the canefield Gustapo see you on the way out. :jump:

False Alarm

False Alarm

Rasputin....Welcome to the show. TYVM.

This is the point where I should be dancing in the street, or bummed out, crying in the dirt....but I'm neither.

We got sidetracked. Never even made it out. The way this works is that if either one of us....doesn't feel right...in the smallest way...we call it a day and stay home. Take a pass, no hard feelings, and live to play another day. Yesterday I had the bad feeling.

Since I had already escaped from the wife of my youth for the afternoon, we had to do something. My partner has a smaller house lot than me, right next to the main road. His garden can be seen from the road and it needed to be moved. I have been ragging on him for months to get the job done. I have some nice girls in pots, so we made a deal. We move his garden where it can't be seen, plant them in ground, and I'll give him the girls to put there.

So he said ok. I ran home, grabbed the girls, and he got the shovel out and got to work.

Did I mention his shovel is named Komatsu? Took us about an hour to clean up the area, dig the holes, fill the truck with green waste, plant, and water the girls. Now he has a cherry new garden with plants in the dirt where they should be. I'd bet he'll get those to 7 ft before they bud. This should also keep him out of my stash too.

Below are some pics....please don't hate me because we are doing things the easy way.

Pic 1) Put one next to the bananas....simple.
Pic 2) Move rock...get hole...one motion.
Pic 3) Garden in an hour. Didn't even break a sweat. How do you like them apples?
Pic 4) Dawn of another crappy day.
Pic 5) My largest plant last year. Pic was taken 7/16/10. A regrow she was in the six ft range. This year she would be one of the smaller ones. :jump:

And before you ask.... I would love to have done my garden this way, but getting that thing in the gulch would destroy my cover. My garden was built with sweat....not diesel. Shit!

LSY....I think I have a way to fix those groundhogs.

HRM... I love it! You don't ask for much do you? I'd love to watch another security truck get showered with large stones....or launched airborne into a couple feet of mud. I can't make any promises. You know what they say about shitting where you eat right?

Hey....anything is possible. I'm not going to look for them, but if they find us....and want to....we'll play. So far this year has been a lot more mellow than last. And I so want it to stay that way.

Is Rodney getting the respect you feel she should be given? Too bad you stuck her with that name. Gotta have a little faith. :thank you:

This is a great thread, TY OH!

Sugar cane is on the decline, soon the Maui cane fields will be gone like the rest of the islands... thank you for documenting what could be one of the last real cane grows.

GS mentioned it's time to go out and check for males... you guys must be running acclamated strains, I've been harvesting outdoor male pollen for the last month.

Best of luck, and thanks again for sharing this with us!

Random Thoughts

Random Thoughts

Core, Hemphrey, Imnotcrazy....TYVM. I know it sounds corney, but your interest pushes me to go the extra mile.

Grey...how's that for overkill? An outdoor growers wet dream.

Hey Festivus. Congrats on your seed venture. I hope it works out well for you.

I wouldn't count sugar out. I used to wonder how long it would last, but with recent developments they have a chance of survival. I've planted and closed out the cane at Wailuku Sugar, and Pioneer Mill,
I hope HC&S outlasts me.

The first Sativa waves were maled early and single planted. I may have a fag or two, but it won't be the end of the world.

The plants at the house tell me what is going on in the fields. The house was planted first, with the cane following by a month or so. In the cane there are probably males open, and pollen flying, but the girls shouldn't have flowers yet. If I'm lucky I may get a few seeds from the preflowers, but there should be very little that can get hit until August...I hope...:blowbubbles:

The only strain that the houseplants told me I need to watch out for is the Rod x Rod. It's nowhere near acclimated, but the crosses seem to be. Needless to say they will be checked first.

Bongbong...South swell on it's way. Should be overhead. TYVM too.

OH, that dawn photo is beautiful. If you don't mind, I'd like to save that and add it to my collection. I like to collect photo's that catch my eye or 'hit' me a certain way. That one does both.

If you have a tag you'd prefer I credited the photo to, just let me know. It's important to give credit where credit is due.

Aloha, Old.
Intimidating trees ya got dere.

How ya keep dem ladies in veg?
(after they've seen Paris) :D

My Rod's kids flowered right through the longest day.
This is the second generation on Island time!

Put one outside on 5/26 and it promptly pulled pistils on me.
Now that the days are gettin shorter, she's florid as all get out.

This may take a few seasons.

Or, they might object to the sudden transition from 18 hrs. of light to 13.

Time will tell.

Aloha, grower.

Nice Vogset Weez

Mr Stainless...TYVM...high praise indeed.

Weez I think the transition from inside to outside set your Rodney off. Five hours less light a day....that'll do it.

How ya keep dem ladies in veg?

Last year I crossed them with some already acclimated girls.

Here they be

Pic 1) Rodney x Rodney....flowers at 5 ft
Pic 2) Diesel x Rodney...no flowers here
Pic 3) Hash Bud x Rodney...or here
Pic 4) Kush x Rodney...or here
Pic 5) Rodney x Rodney...close up. Where are my lavender pistils?
