It froze last night, 27f

So it froze last night and I have two plants that are scragglers, not finished at all need WEEKS.

Did they die now?
What about the buds on some of my other already harvested plants?

I did a search but unable to figure this out.

Assuming the small already harvested plants I need to take the small nuggets NOW.

And assuming my 5 footer that is not done might be ok and can handle one or two small frosts but 27f!

I've had plants that have survived temps down to 0c without any massive damage...-2c will most likely knacker them tho.

Best thing you can do is either chop early or heap a good 12" of compost around the root zone and cover the plant with agri fleece if it's not going to rain or be spotted by anyone.

Fingers crossed you get a warm spell and they come good

Rub the stems, if the outer layer of "bark" sloughs off, you are done.

Ive seen plants freeze, major damage to leaf matter but buds remain fine. Future bud development is almost nil. Good thing is I rarely see budrot after a few hard frosts. Need earlier finishers next year Jay. Best of luck to ya finishing off this season.

I've survived budsicles... actually, it was one of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen. Huge Sour D nugs encased in a the thinnest layer of ice. Came through like a champ... no worse than a heavy dew that doesn't freeze.

how long was it at the coldest point? if its like most plants they can be ok with a quick freeze BUT LONG drawn out (3+ hrs) of constant freeze every night will fuck u. can u put out a mini space heater to blow up the stem/plant to help stop freeze? or like someone else said wrap that thing up GL

I woke up Wednesday morning to 23 degrees. Everything is out but one sativa plant I expect to take out Thanksgiving weekend.
It was noon before I could water as my irrigation system had ice in the lines. These plants are much hardier than people think.
My last sativa will see temps in the teens before it comes out, and on the basis of past experience, I'm not worried about it.

On your next harvest you can try covering them with a transparent nylon so that you create its own macro enviorment, they will not get damaged though in temperatures anywhere below48F they practically do not grow, they remain like on a standby mode until warmer temperature comes.

I think if you are going to cover them like that you have to have headroom and sufficient airflow or mold risk will go thru the roof.

This year I harvested plants after three nights of -2C and -3C frosts and they only showed minor leaf curling/freeze burn on top and no real damage.... So I think frost will not do significant damage to mature plant but will significantly slow down bud development...
