Well I got my money back thank god, and I made sure to destroy the item before sending it back
Was it a Tiffany's? I think it has to do with the company, I know Tiffany's is one of the companies that is proactive in stopping e-bay from allowing sales of counterfeit's of their products. They actually filed suit against E-bay, I'm pretty sure they lost though. My company could give a crap, I found them to be very unhelpful and uninterested in the whole ordeal.
Weird that you've experienced this.
When my gf bought what turned out to be a fake bracelet on eBay, PayPal refunded her, but only once she'd signed a declaration to say that she had destroyed the counterfeit goods.
There was never any mention of returning the goods to the seller.
Maybe UK law works differently..
