Coming from soil I resisted going smaller pots. 3 gal is too big or unnecessary as I found out. 2gal is just right. 1 gal and your plants will fall over unless tied down. Fabric is great and if you already bought 3 gal just fold down the top so it holds 2 gal. My plants in bloom are 6'+ in 2gal smarties, 6 plants around a 1k bulb. goodluck
Thanks, you pretty much said what I wanted to hear. You think the wider diameter of a 3gal bag is better than a taller more narrow 2gal, assuming both have 2 gallons of coco as the media?
I'm all about 1 gallon containers. 1 gallon of coco can hold about 2 liters of water, or about 4-5 lbs. I've never had a problem with my 3' plants in 1 gallon fabric planters tipping over.
