I have no idea what the yellowing and curling is.

I have modified my stealth cabinet into a much larger more efficient entity.

I'm growing in entirely organics with a 1/2 coco, 1/4 perlite and 1/4 compost. I have randomly supplemented with EWC and/or compost teas adding molasses. I have added some dolomite lime early on.

I am also using Hendrikus Organics 100% organic pelletized fertilizer. I know it's 100% organics because the TSA put it through an explosives detector and got a zero return. No chemicals.

I came home from an 18 day vacation to find them like this. I had a timer set to water them with straight dechloraminated and de-ammonia'd water once a week for three minutes from a five gallon bucket. At the end of the vacation, there was approx 1 gallon left.

I assume it's nitrogen, but can't understand why the leaves are turning yellow, then dying. Is this a SEVERE N def? What sort of organics can I use to jack them? Hendrikus Organics has a "Spring Nitrogen" boost that is 10 - 2 - 0.

How long has this problem been going on? A week at least.
What STRAIN are you growing? back is FMS Widowrella. Front is SWT #3
What was the establishing technique? Clone
What is the age of your plants? 3 months
How Tall are the plants? 2 ft tall but pulled down in a modified SCROG/SOG
What PHASE (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in? Flipped 12/12 on Dec 4
What Technique are you using? (SOG, SCROG etc) SCROG/SOG
What size pots are you using? custom made 18" X 24" X 24" plywood box epoxied with food grade epoxy for waterproofing
What substrate/medium are you using? Coco/EWC/Compost/Lime
What Nutrients are you using? Hendrikus Organics Complete/Spring Nitrogen, Molasses, EWC, Compost, Myco addes
How much of each with how much water? When it needs it. Got home from vacation, added 4G with no runoff.
How Often? When the tip of my middle finger jammed all the way down is dry.
What is the TDS/EC/PPM of your nutrients used? I don't care about that stuff in organics.
What is the pH of the "RUN-OFF"? never checked. Don't usually get a whole lot of runoff.
What method of pH test was administered? none
When was your last feeding and how often are you feeding? Just whacked them with a handful of Hendrikus Organics Complete.
What size bulb are you using? 1X 250 MH + 1X 250 HPS
What is the distance to the canopy? from plant to bulb in the back = 12" in the Front = 18"
What is your RH Factor? (Relative Humidity) 50%
What is the canopy temperature? dunno, doesn't matter, it's not hot.
What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include fluctuation range) 80 lights on 72 lights off
What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.) 200 CFM
Is the fan blowing directly at plants? a low volume 250mm Computer Case fan blows across gently.
Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist? No
Is your water HARD or SOFT? dunno, Hetch Hetchy sourced.
What water are you using? Tap dechloraminated and de-ammonia'd with fish safe products.
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned or pinched? no
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so what and when? No
Are plant's infected with pests? No.

Any ideas

Thanks for the mountain with a sun tutorial. I'll try it next time I post pictures.

Anyone have any ideas what is going on with the plants?

looks like they ran out of nitrogen. this occures in mid flowering then progresses in late flowering the plant is using up all its stored nutrents.they slow there uptake of nitrogen when in bloom and use what they have stored up in veg, the plants are preparing to die there life cycle is near its end and all the nutrents is pumped out to the buds for seed creation to start a new cycle.how many weeks are they into flowering?

looks like N and P

and could be normal starting of the dying of plant ( not sure on flowering time.. )

I flipped them 12/12 on Dec 4. So 4.5 weeks. They are both 8+ week strains. Shouldn't be yellowing and dying this early.

The flowers are pretty lame looking too. Much less than I'm used to at this stage.

Anybody have any "quick fix" organic nitrogen supplement ideas?

I'm new to organics, but could easily solve this problem with chem ferts.

Thanks all.

no they shouldnt be this bad yet. your using organtics right so spice there life up with a lil fish emulsion or some high n bat guanno cross your fingers and hope for the best.but be sure after the recovery if they do to ease off of it.n is very mobile and if there gunna recover they will show signs in 24 to 48 hrs.the leafs most damaged will not recover watch for the dark green to show back up. have you fertilized any? with teas or what not?

Hey, if you uploaded your pics into an album, then all you have to do when you make a post and want to post a pic, is click on the insert link to the right of the text box. A window will pop up with all your pics and you just click on them.

Well, if they sucked up 4g with no runoff (assuming you do have drainage holes?) I'd say they were too dry and the N deficiency we're seeing is due to no delivery system (water). You're right in assuming that those huge containers full of organic mix should have enough N, it's just that there's more to getting nutes to the roots than just dosing. The rule of watering (containers or in the ground) is; As thoroughly as possible, as infrequently as possible. That means you have to thoroughly wet that whole box-o-dirt and then wait for it to dry just enough to encourage bigtime root growth, then wet again. No way to do that with a watering 'schedule' like you tried to use with your automatic vacation system. Cannabis plants are way too high energy and fast growing to adhere to any regular watering schedule.

They are showing signs of life

They are showing signs of life

Thanks all. The plants got watered with straight water after I dumped in some of Hendrikus' 6-4-4 organic fertilizer.

Most of the big fan leaves are too far gone, but from the medium fan leaves down to the small flower leaves are starting to re-green from the center and base of the leaf up and out.

I am making a tea with EWC, Molasses, and compost. It shoudl be ready to go tomorrow.

Thank again for the help, I think they just got too dry and lost their ability to take nitrogen as a result. The flowers are starting to get fatter by the minute.
