Yesterday was a sad day for me, i was looking over the plants and my buddy and i found seeded bud... seeds were pretty much popping out of the calyxes. Now it appears as if some of the plants are more seeded then some of the others, We clipped sample buds of each to see if we could determine how bad it was. Some buds appear to have a lot, some only a few. My questions are
Since they are at day 45 of 12/12 and some of the seeds are harding up does this mean they we're pollinated from the get go?
Would it be possible that light leaks caused the plants to form seeds? i thought there would need to be male flowers for this to happen? and after examining the plants it doesn't appear that there are any male flowers.
The only other explanation would be 2 males that were culled early on in the grow actually released some of their pollen... is it possible for male plants to release pollen before they are even sexed? or shortly after? i believe they were culled like a week into 12/12 but the other grower told me he saw a "yellow dust" around the edge of the net pot the plant was in. How much pollen could have been released in such a short time?
How nice of a smoke can we expect from seeded bud... i mean the genetics are very nice (Double Strawberry Diesel from Rez and Biko II from AnnaC and if the seeds are from pollen they were from a very vigorous and bushy Blue Satellite 2.2 from SOL) I'm just not sure how this happened, i guess if the Blue Sat's did in fact release pollen that would be it. Will the room always have pollen in it now, what should we do to take care of this? Will there even be any smokeable bud from these plants? Thanks for any help
