There's no real set format, some people go all the way to the very beginning with details and pictures of how they set up their grow space. What soils, hydro equipment, lights and fertilizers they use and then finally pictures of the plants themselves. Some start from germinating the seeds, then the sprouted plant or the starting with clones. Then from there it can be daily pictures of the plants progress, bi-weekly, weekly or just whenever they feel there is something new to show.

The main goal is to give as much detail about what you are doing, along with readings of temps, ph, humidity etc. That way if you run into trouble and need to ask for help the information needed to help you is right there in your diary. It's also good to show when you make important decisions/changes for your grow and why. This is not only so others can help you but also so others can get help by seeing what you do.

Basically it all comes down to you and how much effort you want to put into it and how much information you're willing/able/comfortable to share. The more details and pictures you provide the more likely you'll develop a good group of people following your grow diary. Also it doesn't have to be 100% serious and professional some people will joke around and or discuss other things besides growing although it's best not to get too far off the track of documenting your grow. I would recommend you browse thru some of the grow diaries already here to kind of get a feel for what you want to replicate.
