How often do you change your HPS?

Here's a couple of very used bulbs from days gone by...my bad

Sounds to me like more than once a year is overdoing it.

If it is a 20.00 bulb I replace after 2-3 flower cycles. If it is a 90.00 Eye Hortilux then I change it when the lumens on the meter show degredation. So far 4 months and no detectable degradation with my meter.

I would maybe change a MH more often if I used one.

Clack, are you serious? That's a lot of lightbulbs....they gott last longer than that?

I only run 4 or 5 MMJ plants under a single 600watt HPS so the expense isn't much.

I keep the last bulb as a back-up and donate the used bulb to a clinic which passes out equipment, cuttings, etc. to indigent patients.

Not so much 'used' as 'pre-tested' I guess.............
