Honk if you give away your medicine.

honk.

But I don't have patients and I'm not a care-giver.

I just don't like to see my fam spending good money for it. I refuse to sell and I have more than enough, so it makes sense for me.

grow weed cheaper though!
I know what the cost is to grow weed indoors and out.

A few here that posted got where I was coming from and thx for understanding.

For me cannabis should...ha ha should...be no different than tomatoes. How many tomato dispensaries are there? How much money do tomato farmers make? How much does a tomato clone cost? We're in the middle phase of where this whole thing will end up...everyone growing tomatoes when and where they want...built on the efforts of all those people who've worked hard and sacrificed.

One of my main mentors was, what I think, a true rasta farmer and was very fortunate to spend time living with him. He took care of himself and his family with integrity...and never wore it on his sleeve nor did he compare himself to anyone.

If you wanna talk about how it 'should' be then you're talking about a price per pound of like what..$50 like a high end nutritional herb like goldenseal? How many will survive on that?

When the price gets low and it's legal you just will have to grow alot more. ;)

What about charging sick people who are also poor less or nothing, then charge regular or rich folks the 35-50 1\8ths ? Or would that be...god forbid.....socialist lol I think basing prices on income makes sense...Or dispensaries should get together to give medicine to needy people. I realize this happens, but not enough imo.

Which will go to large scale farmers and hopefully those will be people like Humboldt Local, Ganja D, Nomaad, Trinity Gold, Rootwise, etc. running them. We'll be talking acres per farm and ganja will be a commodity crop. Go to your local farmers market and ask the growers there how much they make per year. The only people left growing for $ at that point will be those passionate about doing it. Seeds will be on the rack at the local garden store and 'clones' at the local nursery...cool.

The Oregon Dispenso's do not sell cannabis, they give it away to OMMP card holders. The Dispenso's get the Cannabis from Donations to get to the patients. I have donated and I know MANY other Growers who have as well. I just assumed most, if not all, of the educated account members on ICMAG had a few 'special patients' on their list that get Medicinal Cannabis for free, or next to it.

Really, who doesn't want to play Santa Claus (or whatever large gift giving entity you believe in) to help sick people whose shoulders we stand on to be allowed to grow.

Also, whenever I see the word 'weed' vs 'cannabis' I revert to all the negative propaganda the word 'weed' implies. Try and use 'Cannabis' and you will be surprised at a simple switch in vernacular.

Peace

One time...when I was a teen.I had scored some acid along with this older couple. They were about the age I am now.Well it was about 10pm so it was dark outside. My bud and I went over to their apartment.I knocked on the door and we could have sworn we heard them say "come in."Well I opened the door and there they were just to the left of the door. She had a paint roller and was standing up painting the wall.He was on his knees sucking on her tit.It was like it was a minute before it dawned on them we was there.lols...Well im scarred from it.I thought you might enjoy being scarred too...lols :hotbounce

Its a Scooby Doo moment............

I gave 2 joints to someone famous yesterday...that's all I will say about that. :)

But I constantly try to give, in all aspects of life. Karma is a beautiful woman if you treat her right.

I applaud all the growers like this who are in a position to do this type of thing. Since cannabis isn't included on any type of drug plan, those who really are in need often can't afford it.
People with HIV, cancer, spinal chord injury and other serious illnesses are able to get clean organic meds which is the only thing their body can handle.
Its great to see the grower/patients plan working this way.

Unfortunately in our country, this often gets taken advantage of by both the grower and the patient and it takes real integrity to pull it off successfully.
Our MMJ guidelines clearly state that it is not to be sold but was placed there to discourage people from becoming greedy and trying to open up cannabis businesses of thier own.
Some people can afford to do this but many are only able to do this because they are selling the extras back onto the street.
There are also some patients who get huge prescriptions for themselves, ask for free meds and then turn around and sell it back onto the street as well, which is not what these programs were really meant for. This can perpetuate into a whole new breed of patient who expects from a sense of entitlement.

In my opinion, this should be a personal decision between the patient and the grower.
It shouldn't be expected to be given free but something to be negotiated. Even if the grower can't afford to give out free meds, a low reasonable fee could be considererd. Any extras could be offered to the dispensaries. This way it is keeping the cannabis in the caregiver/patient system.
I really like the idea of the guy who has one patient mowing the lawn etc but not all patients can do this type of thing.
There are some great places now in the States that are co-op like this. The members are given free meds in exchange for work rendered. They even have a cannabis cafeteri.
