Dingbat, please explain how you're getting the budder texture/consistency from the qwiso extract! I've been searching the internet trying to make exactly that product...I end up with amber/shatter, can't get it into the budder texture!

PLEASE!!! lol <3

Real quick, I'm ok, but had a kitchen fire. Do not evaporate alcohol in the oven, I apologize for being wrong about this!

Thats what i was doung too, and im serious, fire department had to come put it out. My two fire extinguishers and a garden hose werent enough to put it all the way out. The pyrex shattered and dumped hot alcohol on the element. It got much worse from there. I have read that the pyrex formula changed in the late nineties and shatters very easily now in the US. Outside on a hotplate on low should be fine, cover the lan with a screen to keep bugs out.

I wouldn't store that in plastic.

You might start to dissolve some of the nasty crap in plastic and I'm sure you don't want to smoke that. That looks like a styrene container. As a suggestion, I'd google the material safety data sheet on styrene and see what's in it. I won't even do a hit on a styrene bong.

I'm not tryin' to be a smart guy - I worked in the plastics industry for 15 years - before it got outsourced.

Hey Red, I'm curious as to what solvent you're using, I usually see color like that pick up only when I use 70% ISO or less. I think the water component picks up a lot of color and leftover nutes from the material, and contributes to a more colorful end product. It might suffer a bit in purity, but tends to have better flavor IMHO.

I used the 91, it took me a while to get those thing to turn colors ;)

Every Batch made come out golden colors, but to get it to red you have to dry it properly with the right temp and time , its pretty simple actually, just need a lot of patient

lazyman, huge fan! Thanks for the vids and quality posts.

How do i make a tincture out of my gwiso? I tried it in some not-so honey qwiso and good rum & it didn't infuse at all. i've really enjoyed the potency and stealth of green dragon lately.

Going to water cure, 10 sec wash and the tincture the remains next week. Hopefully get the best of both.

You think red is preferable to golden?

I read through this whole thread and I myself made a batch of qwiso from 91% iso last week. I used sugar trim from blubonic, that had been thrown into the freezer when trimmed wet. I yielded about 1.7 grams oil from maybe a third of a 1 qt ziploc bag of the trim. All sugar trim, no trim with out crystals on them.

The way I warm dried it was to rest it on top of an oil filled space heater set on high at first, then low in the last 30 minutes of drying. Just place the pyrex pan directly on top of it, and make sure no cats or anything will knock it over. I lasered temped it with a laser thermometer, and the bottom of the pan would reach about 130 degrees, and the the top itself never went over 90 degrees F. It was ready within 6 hours... I let it dry another two hours at room temp.

I hope this helps those like lazyman who is constantly looking for a good way to quick warm the washes safely. The method I came across allows the convection of the heater rise past the pan itself as well and carry the evaporating alcohol away pretty quickly in a ventilated room.

My pan was 2"x9"x13" and I used perhaps a little less than 2/3rd of a 16 oz bottle of 91 iso.. with about a 20 second washed strained through a coffee filter and squeezed quickly. A green tint was evident in the squeezings but the end result did not have green in it, and was golden when streched thin and dark when massed together. I will do a shorter wash next, and not mix the second wash with the first like I did this time.

I ingested about .7 grams of it mixed in a hot chocolate beverage to dissolve it. I felt it, and enjoyed it. But I believe I would use this type of warm dried qwiso for smoking... made for potent hot knife smoke! using dabs about half the size of a pencil eraser.

To eat it I would process it one more time to do the decarbo.... thing. lol
