Hello Guys!
I just did a test on a 250w HPS hanging verticaly, I am still amazed!!
This is the shit, no more heat stress for me. I will never go back to horisontal reflectors!
Im building myself an aircooled parabolic reflector soon. The termometer is 7,5cm(3") under the bulb and the temp is 27 C(80,6 F).
Did some paper modeling on the aircooled parabolic reflector made for vertical bulb mounting Turned out real good and all the components are present. Im going to build this one in thinn aluminium, MAX 0,5mm thick...probebly thinner to get the right shape. Every thing will be rivet-ed together with heavy duty rivets. The flange is not going to be homemade, just a regular 160mm flange...Obvious this one is a scaled down paper model, well actuly its not even scaled right.
Okay here is the sheet cut out to form the parabolic cone, diameter should be around 800mm, the hole in the middle is 170mm.
Now its a cone and the hole in the middle should be 162mm due to the overlapping of the sheet, it should now accept the 160mm duct flange
Okay here is the flange
Flange and two hooks are installed, this is how its looks.
Here is a view from under and you can see the lamp socket and holder.
So what do you guys think
