It's ok to bury stems, but be very careful of moisture remaining around/near the leaves for any period of time. Things might happen; none of them good.

Yeah I know, leaves start to get nasty spots and eventually die. Just watered it a little while ago with a mild solution of FoxFarms Grow Big and the portion of the stem thats buried looks very healthy, no signs of excessive moisture or even roots trying to grow from it. Might end up with a problem soon though, the Grow Big is at least three years old, and I think I heard some solid pieces at the bottom of the bottle when I shook it up, it also had a medicine/hospital room like smell. But its the only product I have at the moment that has a higher solible ratio of N to P and K, which Ive found to increase the odds of it developing into a female, as well as a high kelvin bulb, starting the photoperiod at around 12/12 and increasing it by 10 minutes a day once the third internode starts to show until reaching an 18/6 photoperiod, keeping room temps as cool as possible without going too cool, keeping humidity at around 60%, keeping soil as wet as possible without going too wet and keeping soil cooler like it would be in nature during early to mid spring.
