double post
I've been handwatering coco in pots for years but not any more.
I gutted my 12/12/room over the summer and fitted concrete impregnated boards to soundproof the floor so it's now nice and quiet in the room below.
Two danish trays, each 2 x 1 m, 2 air cooled hoods over each tray. Each pair of lights is cooled by a 150mm adjustable fan running at half speed. Each has a remote sensor to an over ride so's they kick in at full speed if it gets too warm.
Got a 250 liter rez in the corner, Maxijet 1000 lph pump to two sets of 12 top spin drippers.
Plan is to run 12 girls per tray though currently there's only ten on each as that's all I got. Strain is Skunk Special from Female seeds. I think there's 2 Grapefruit from the same company in there as well.
These girls have been sitting in my veg room for months waiting for the off. They've been pruned again and again to hold em while everything else was sorted. To be honest, the strain ain't the best and these ain't the best examples but like I said, it's what I got. Plus side is I've run these girls over and over again so they're one less new thing to get my head around.
They had their first bout of 12 hours darkness yesterday.

No Support Problems with that! Looks so Tidy as Well
Did my first rez change tonight, pumping the old stuff out into the bath and refilling with fresh nutes at 1.2ec. I don know if it was needed but I wanted to try it out and see how it went. It went okay.
Some new pics. They don show much really but you might see how I've tucked some of the taller branches under the screen scrog style.

Think I need a better camera. This one came fee with a packet of weetabix or summat like that.
Worked out the first real fault with this set up. Each pair of lamps is hung from one piece of 3x2 timber which is hung by two of those steel cables with a hook/ratchet thing at the end. They work fine lowering the lamps but I can't raise them without a third hand.View Image
Temps are okay at 78f humidity is 55%. These cooler nights are fine for growing in here.
Look up rope ratchets mate the heavy duty ones, you will not look back I used to use those cable ones after a while they frey and twist and turn to rusty shite before your eyes. P.s I still reckon your going to do well here mate no matter what you think

Are you Adding Oxygen to the Water Harry? I.e air pump-stone ?
No. I got an aquarium circulating pump stirring them up the rez up then I'm relying on the drips gathering oxygen as they leave the emitters.
Face your pump straight up in the bottom of the res so you see rippling on the water surface which is called flooming, creating dissolved oxygen as well as sturing up the res mate.
I read the sticky thread in the coco forum on coco slabs. I'm going by what Gaius Marias says there which is that the liquid will gather sufficient oxygen through it's surface as drips fall from the emitters.
It kinda makes sense from what I remember from science lessons at school. Not bubbling or fluming the rez with o2 means the ph will be more stable.
I'm open on this but hoping GM is right.
I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow night but the elastic band powering the camera is broke so don hold yer breath...
Meantime, girls are still on 1.2 ec.I measured run off tonight and it's 0.6 ec. My tap water is 0.5. I'm assuming this means the girls are eating up almost all the nutes in the water. Does this make sense?
