Granddaddy Purple LED Aeroflo Grow

this my first full attempt at using LEDs.

equipment:
DR150 grow tent
2- Stealth Grow 602 LED panels
36-site aeroflo
1/4 HP water chiller
House and Garden aqua flakes nutrients
Tri-Meter
6" intake/exhaust fans

my buddy used the same set up on one of his grows and didnt really have good results..He didnt really take good care of them, the plants were really small, and none of the undergrowth was trimmed resulting in a terrible yield..But these lights do have potential in the right hands. So lets see what these babies can do!!

the first pic was taken right after they were put in the machine, and the second was taken on the 13th. im 4 clones short, and the plant on the bottom left is chemdawg. I need to see if these genetics are good enough to do a full run.

I've been wondering about LEDs for a while now so I'm interested to see what you can do with this setup.. good luck!

Are those panels on light movers? Seems like they are mounted kind of high.

Very interesting. Will be watching this one out.

How long do you veg for in the aero system?
im probably gonna veg these for 2 weeks..I usually only veg a week HPS

thanks man...i have the lights a lil high because on a grow my friend did...he had his lights real close and the plants stayed really small. they seem to respond a lil better when they arent so close..I have another LED grow poppin off here in about a week, so all of this is going to be a trial and error experience.

if there are any veteran LED growers out there with some real world experience, and you have advice..Please share!!

Usually you can go quite close with LEDs, unless they feature lots of blue (and white, which features quite some blue). Your lights seem to do very well, so don't try to fix something that isn't broken.

the plants dont like it when these LEDs are too close...i noticed that in a previous grow..

LED is the future, looking good! Check out my sig to see an organic Sweet Tooth grow with LED if you are interested in some flowering plants halfway in - seeded! :canabis:

Will keep an eye on this one, hope it goes BIG for you! :canabis:

thanks for checking it out everyone! theyre growing really fast now..i cant wait until they start budding.

@Tuhder, those are empty spots because i didnt have enough clones ready...i shouldve spaced them out throughout the machine when they were younger

one of the online hydro stores did a side by side grow with leds. their results didn't inspire me to buy leds. the advertising is absolutely truthful. spectrum is perfect. here's the gotcha: lack of lumins. please keep us updated on your grow. in a world of increasing energy costs, we can have decreased overhead costs if led technology can mature.

what kind of LEDs did they use? ive seen these babies in action and they were impressive. LEDs arent measured in lumens either..HPS lumens range from the 500-550nm, and these LEDs are at 455-475nm, 620-630nm and 660nm..perfectly tailored for resin and flower production..

these panels consist of 2-3W LED diodes and the actual wattage draw is 327W. stick around and you'll see...these will make you a believer..

moving right along...i was slacking on a res change, and they were looking a lil light green...

should get their color back in a couple days.
