well, fifty years ago, damn near everyone that bought a car expected to do lots of the work on it themselves, and were capable (mostly, lol) of doing so. now cars are given as gifts to folks that need GPS to make it to school or the damn grocery store and then find their way home. it's a sad situation, and seems to be getting worse before our eyes...
