Thanks pedro I learn something every time you post. The system hasn't let me rep you for a while. Yet still...here we are. A bunch of cfl growers with no SPDs.
Seems to me we are both right, really. I still don't know my bulbs' spectral output so this hasn't really changed anything for me. We can talk about SPDs all day but yeh, not gonna help most consumer CFL guys. Thanks for explaining your stance so well. If I do find a bulb that doesn't perform as expected, well I know probably why.
I'm going to stick to the old fashioned method of analysing bulbs - by growing a plant under them and observing. Peace.
Edit: I think if there are bulbs that don't perform as expected, we should have some kind of sticky or database so we know which bulbs not to buy. I can't contribute, obviously.
- Is anyone the wiser from this thread, in real terms of which specific CFL to use?
- Who is not planning on using a 5000k or 6500k for good veg growth, after discovering these revelations?
