Still Havin problems

alright thanks everyone for there input.

I flushed the soil with 6.5 RO water

3 Days later...
I made a new nutrient batch and tested the water before adjusting it and the PH was WAY below 5.0 (i say 5.0 cuz thats as far as the test goes) so i brought the PH back up with a ridiculous amount of PH up to 6.6.

The next batch i am going to make i am going to let it sit overnight bubbling to see if the PH changes.

Here is a few pictures of whats continuing. CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT PROBLEM I AM HAVING WITH THE FIRST PICTURE?

i would say in this pic you have a p def aswell as the start cal and mag def

my guess would be after add your nutes you were droping to below 6.5 ph is about where all above def will start to show in soil

didn't eally know that stitch..i thought you could pour liquid teas on plants directly with no dilution with out adverse effects..learn something new everyday...

what the heck, i adjusted the nutrient water, cut the amount of nutrients in half and the plants are still seemingly getting worse. and it seems like the flowering is it at a dead pause.

when was the last time you calibrated your ph meter. You could be way off I have seen thsi happen. I cal my unit everytime I use it.

i dont have a meter i have a drip testing kit so i know im not off.

i tester my hydro water that was adjusted yesterday to 5.5, when i checked it today it was 6.5??

i made a new batch of water with JUST Tiger Bloom. the Ph of plain RO water was 7.5 when i added the Tiger Bloom the PH dropped Below my tester (which stops at 5.0) i brought it back up to 6.5 then proceeded to add the Grow Big, Big Bloom, and the Beastie Bloomz Additive. i checked the water again and it was dropped again but this time only to 6.0.

i have decided to let the water i made sit and see if it had an increase in the next few hours.

tomorrow i am going to flush the shit outta the plants with 6.5 stable water. the plants are only 2 liter pots so i assume double the amount of water should suffice.

im also having problems with fox farm. but my problems look different from yours. mine look like an iron def but starting at the bottom up. starts to yellow from the leaf closer to the stem to the tips. so tips would be green and inside would be yellow. i thought it was a iron def but i think its a PH problem now.

I think you may be getting doggy PH readings,so check it with something else, and see if your meter is out of wack.I use tiger bloom in flower, but dont follow the directions at all.I only feed up to half strength,at the most.Try setting your PH with the tiger bloom, and other nutes.Forget the chart, and just use enough tiger bloom to drop the PH to 6.2-6.5.I bet this will solve your problem.

FF fertilizer contains EDTA's ... it could have been oxidized by air. The metals could then be in a physical state impossibly for the plants to take up. for example:
Fe2+ EDTA complex could brake down to Fe3+ that will be Fe2O3... just a thought...

Bsound is right. You have to follow that schedule.

I fry my plants all the time because of the high nutrient qualities of FF products used in combination. I use FFoF soil and nutes, and I usually only fertilize a few times (3 at most) during the grow cycle because FF stuff is so strong.

Flush, flush, flush with PH 6.5 water. Then wait, it will clear out, you just need to hold off on any nutes AT ALL!

blakhash i feel your pain . my plants were like 100% a few weeks ago. then start to get bad slowly and i fuked up by giving them more cause i thought it was an iron def but its most likely a ph problem now. gonna flush them now. hopefully it will fix it for me. GL buddy

Chyeaaa man its getting really annoying now because i have flushed the plants nice thought they would get better. now i have to flush the SHIT outta them again.

HEy wacky- LOC had a good idea to use the Tiger bloom as PH down. when i made a new batch at home Tiger Bloom dropped the PH below 5.0 at full strength. It would explain the problems that occurred during flowering. its fukin with the PH

You don't want to do that flush until you get out what you put in. Start using guano Tea with calibrated meter at pH 6.5 and ppm of 800.

Back to basics...

Back to basics...

I think alot of the problem is yer growing in such small pots. One post says you have 3-4 foot plants in 5 liters of soil, another post said 2 liters?. You need 4 liters or 1 gallon of soil per foot of plant. When yer short on soil you lose the buffering qualities of the soil.

I think because there is so little soil, there's a build up of nutrients and salts. I know some folks have used these additives, an it's worked for them, but I don't. A plant will never use all the N-P-K ( mostly P and K ) that's in those. Somthin else the high NPK ratio's do, over dose the microherd. Repeted feedings, esp with that much phosphorous will kill the soil life, and jus think about all the salts they use to chelate that shit too. It's death for yer soil. I wouldn't use the additives, jus stick to GB, TB and BB. I wouldn't use their feeding schedule either! Learn ta read yer plants, they'll tell ya what they want, and when they want it.

Food for the thought. FF OF soil has humus in it: forest humus and worm castings. Organics 101 tells us that humus will buffer the PH of soil, water, nutes etc... so the plant can still easily feed. Doesn't matter if the PH is 4 through 8, the humus will buffer it. This is another important reason to match pot size to the plant. I haven't checked my PH fer years. Many folks using teas never check their PH either.

With this in mind, Big Bloom is made with worm castings and bat poop, yep more humates. I would suggest every time you use Grow Big or Tiger Bloom, you use Big Bloom with it. Not only will it help buffer the PH but it will allow the plant to feed on -way- more cations that it couldn't without it. More organics 101. lol It wiil also feed and add to the microherd, which means more buffering yet!

I'm not sure why, but it seems folks are afraid of using tap water? Hard water isn't gonna hurt a thing. As a plant grows the soil natually becomes more acidic. ( No need ta worry about it with humates though, but I'm jus saying... ) The cations of calcium from the hard water would help keep yer PH from going too low, the same way lime does. Also, If you have plenty of cal yul rarley see a mag defeceincy, because without the proper amount cal, mag ( and sometimes iron ) gets locked out.

Anyhoo, Blakhash, I'd let yer plants dry out and flush again, only on the last water to go through I'd add some Big Bloom, like a quater of a cup. BB should help unlock the salts that are bound up in the soil. I would see about potting them up ina bigger pot too.

Sorry fer ramblin, but I think it all needed ta ba said. Good luck! BC

BC- ya didn't ramble, i did a little research about organics in the organics thread. i shall take your advise on this one. i could tell that there was no problems in the beginning when the humus was present in the soil and the problems seem to get worse and worse the higher the concentration on nutrients.

one problem tho i am completely out of space in my cabinet the cabinet every pot it no more than a few inches fromt he next, and yea i know i completely over fillled my grow box with plants, something i gotta deal with and wont make that mistake next time.

For correction- the plants are from 2 feet from the smallest plant and 3 feet plus for the other plants. i am growing in 5 liter plastic grow bags.

i have a brita filter so i am going to start using it to filter out the heavy metals and chlorine.

Im stumped

Im stumped

I flushed each 5 liter grow bag with 4 gallons of 6.5 PH Brita Water. The plants seemed to have gotten better the next day and the buds started fattening then a few days later they seemed to have gotten worse AGAIN! Check out the picks and maybe you guys can figure it out?? any help right now would be much appreciated.

fwiw, pH fluctuation in and of itself can cause some of the problems you are experiencing. It's not so much about finding that "perfect" pH level as it is maintaining it at a steady level, within an acceptable range.

I use FoxFarm nutes and have had no problems. And I actually OVERdose them...1tbsp TB and about 3-4tbsp BB...but then I've got a few pretty big plants- dosage should depend on size. I don't pH my water...ever. I just do the same thing every time and keep it as consistent as possible.

Just know that your next grow will be exponentially better if you follow the advice that some of the more seasoned vets than myself have given you in this thread.

Good luck,
Mint.

1 tbsp TB and 3-4 tbsp BB is not overdosing, it's less than what's listed on their chart. Their chart lists 2 tbsp of TB and 3 tbsp of BB. Also, BB is fairly mild, so it's hard to overdo it, TB is much stronger.
