nice grow

never done dwc. How much cooler do water temps stay compared to room temp? Say your room is 75 degrees on avg.. what would ur avg water temp be? Or are they about the same as room temp?

Lady:  welcome... I try to keep it light and fun, so hold on to your britches :D

Whodi: what's good mang... you from down south? Reminds me of the days of No Limit...lol. To answer your question, honestly, I don't know. I guess we'll find out together :D I know that it heats slower and cools slower than the air around it... so I could see how water temps could be an issue in an environment that doesn't have some sort of temperature control... I'm just hoping this portable A/C unit will do the trick. For those of you looking for Portable A/C, get with Home Depot... I bought a 9500 btu portable for $322 out the door... which is rather decent if you shop around. You've got at least 30 days to take it back if you decide to, but mine has kept my room below 80 since I got it... the only downside is, the damn thing doesn't stop running...lol (in all fairness, I'm not exactluy somewhere cool) but I can see my electric bill being a bit unpleasent in the next few months :badday:

AC in my room stays on all the time too. Temps have been 100-107 so far. Soon to be over 110 for a few months. Hurts on the light bill.
Nice plants FF.

interesting. in imaginary garden, similar situation re temps/ac.

really have no issue w/ higher temps due to air flow+dehumidification.

trick that works is to lower temps to 60 ~1hr before/after lights on off. applying positive diff @ time of dark/light makes plant think had long cold night.
most sensitive @ time of photoperiod end/dark cycle initiation.

*{edit}
have not had issues w/ 78-88*f on purpose, day+night. if get to 100, ok, but high 90's really ok.
reason for higher temps is higher metabolism+respiration+transpiration.

have any of the posters here had problems w/ higher temps, when de-humidification/air flow are taken care of?

hazy: holy shit man... temps don't get THAT bad here... I guess I should always remember some people have it a lot worse, thanks for stoppin by, hopefully they'll be nice when they finish :D

Purple I personally have never had any problems with temps because I've always gone to extreme measures to ensure that I didn't. When dealing with DWC, from what I've read, mind you, root rot and root issues are rather common when water temps aren't kept in check. I obviously have no personal knowledge of this myself because I've never done dwc before now :D

then I'll decide whether the Biddy Early and the BerkelyXBlueBubble come out to play or not :abduct:

haven't run the Berkely, but I can tell you that Biddy is an early finisher. as far as how many days, I forgot what I was told..damn stoner memory..:bashhead: under 70 days though.

right on :D I've been waiting on my rockwool cubes to come in along with some other things... (Big Bud, Overdrive and of course, pots) so I'm hoping everything will get here by the end of next week... I think six weeks veg on these girls in soil is really gonna be pushing it but if they keep growing the way they are, it shouldn't be a problem. I've talked myself into it, I'll be putting 2 of the B.E and 4 of the Berk. into paper towels tonight, if the cubes don't come in by germination, I'll use peat pods... those can easily be rinsed away... This is scary... wish me luck :1help:

foothills: looks good, man. will be keeping tabs on your grow. i did a grow with those supernatural nutes and they did good. i'm just more comfortable with liquid nutes.

hazy: i feel ya man. temps here are hovering right around 100. temps in my grow room range between 70-85.........but in my veg chamber they get up to about 90-92. my portable air runs nonstop from april - september!! i gotta set my schedule up so i can chill jun/jul/aug and take a vacation somewhere!

a lil budporn to go!

You Have Good Sense of Order

You Have Good Sense of Order

Just want to say that I think you are doing a very good job and presentation as

well. While not an expert but not a noob either, with about 5-6 years growing

so far. Little comment; with two plants in a tub roots can be expected to

tangle. Not a prob if both are girls, but if separation is needed, you may have

to do surgery. Which isn't that bad. At any rate, best wishes.:abduct:

bfap I can see how liquid would be a little bit less of a hassle, I mixed up a gallon today and I had to fiddle with adding water till I got the PPM down to a tolerable level... liquids seem like they'd be much easier and more accurate to deal with, but I'm a hands on guy and you can only go in there and stare at the plants for so long, so fiddling with PPM adjustments might save me some trichs in the long run as I adjust my plants daily :smoke:

Mash what it do lil homie :D I hope to see somethin decent come from what I've got lined up... thanks for the tips :D

davzap Thanks for the kind words, as far as potential swingin dicks go... I HAD given that some thought, I guess we'll just cross that bridge when we get there :dueling:

OK... I know this is ghetto as fuck, but I have 100% germination with this... if it's a viable seed, it's goin to crack. Anyways, I went ahead and placed 6 seeds in some paper towels, threw some warm water on em (2 BE and 4 Berkely) and put them in a butter dish, then I wrapped the butter dish up in a towel and stuck it on top of my air cooled hood. There's just enough warmth from a 600w hps to keep that dish perfect temp/humidity... I dunno at any rate, I had to reshape the peat pods to take the tap roots on 4 out of 5 of them, that's 48hrs with some of these tap roots at 2 inches. I hate using peat but I don't have any other kind of starter right now... ordered some rapid rooters but they haven't come in yet and well, whatcha gonna do... :1help: I figure if the rapid rooters come in soon, mebbe I can transplant before they get to wrapped up in the peat... we shall see :joint:

can i just suggest way more bubbles and aeration...
looks good though! i'm curious how that supernatty works out

I've thought about it and I might upgrade after this run, but this is a 20-60 gallon pump per 10 gallon tub with the air stones set in place right below where the net pots will be... 20-60 gallon pump, 3 gallons of actual water in the tub... I shouldn't have any problems with aeration, but it has been noted. Look forward to seeing SuperNatural at work myself :joint:

not ghetto at all bro. .same way here. also i figure your pumps should be fine too.

no limit!

6/6 cracked and looking healthy, for the most part... 1 got a bit confused about where it was "tapping" exactly but with a little patience and some assistance, I think everyone will pull through.

I did some pruning today, I hope to have everything ready to go into flower within about 3 weeks, we'll just have to see how things go with the seedlings :D

Here's some top shots and a cpl of shots after I've adjusted the plants. I'm a firm believer in training your plants and mine have responded well.

Might as well throw these in here too...

BerkelyXBlue Bubble

Biddy Early

2 BE on the left, 4 BxBB on the right

and then these were taken about 30 mins ago:

from left... BE, BxBB and finally (after some emergency surgery) everyone happy :woohoo:

:badday: so I started making room for my tubs this morning and while shifting some things around, one of my fans decided to fall right on top of my plants... I saw it going in slow motion... it was like a nightmare... long story short, the healthy BBxSC is history and honestly I think the other one is right behind it... it's growing 3x slower than it's sis that met her untimely doom in the Box Fan Murder of '09... I really don't have the space for 3 tubs and 5 plants... I really don't have enough space period, but I think I'll be able to squeeze by with 2 tubs and then position the others around them as I'm able, so it looks like the BBxSC wiill have to wait for another day... I have more of these so it's no big deal, but man, I hate to lose that plant, but everything happens for a reason. Shitty way to start a day though... maybe my rapid rooters and pots will come in today to make up for it... THAT being said... that knocks me back down to 3 in soil.... but then there's the problem of the extra plants... so what I've decided to do is put 2 of the Berkely in soil, that will leave me with 5 plants and 2 tubs (2 plants each) for 9 plants total under a 600w hps. I really hope I can pull this off without a mover... I think one of the things I have going for me is that 2 of the 3 are definitely going to be nice uniform little bushes, we'll just have to see how the berkely and BE wanna act once they get settled in
