WHOA now that is the info I was looking for, I've been all over the site, but obviously missed this. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

I used the macro on my camera and took a few more pictures. Not everything is maturing at the same time, so I guess I am going to have to check all the time. (That's OK, I don't mind)

Here are the pictures:

Excellent. Nice effort. Love the plant porn. Keep at it. It is after all a WEED; so it grows fairly easily.

I just picked up one of those little scopes from radio shack, and WHOA! A whole 'nuther world going on there, far more than my macro lens could show me. Some have all clear trichomes, some have all cloudy, I saw one single amber trichome on my Oasksterdam Purple Kush. Nothing amber on anything else yet. If they are all cloudy, how long should I expect to wait until the cloudy ones turn amber? I want sedative couch lock here. I mixed up a gallon of molasses water and fed them all a nice little drink just before dark. They sure do look happy!

Strains differ in thier progression of clear > cloudy > amber.. the more sativa influenced a particular plant is, in my experience (which is rather limited) the longer it will take for the majority of trichromes to becomes cloudy/amber, but usually different parts of the plant mature at different rates and you may have to havest at 'staggered stages' to achieve the desired couch lock. Usually with a full blown indica it takes about 1 and a half weeks or so for the majority or cloudy trichs to start turning amber, maybe a little more on some strains maybe a little less on others, but roughly.. betwwen 1 week and 2.
Now that you got your scope you can lock it in and enjoy your meds. looking forward to the harvest picks..
fucking awesome job on a first time grow

Hey thanks so much! I'm truly flattered by the compliments regarding my first effort, and the wealth of info you guys are giving me ROCKS!!

I've read a lot about trichs, but not much of it seems to cover the differences in color change when talking about indica vs sativa.

I am diggin' that little scope! Takes some getting used to but I love it, best ten bux I've spent in a long time. (I am easily amused, LOL!)

Happy New Year!

Getting SOOOOOO CLOSE!!!!!!

Getting SOOOOOO CLOSE!!!!!!

Hello everyone, an update...

Oh man, the anticipation is killing me here. I think I might have succeeded in growing my own meds!

I still gotta get through harvest and curing, but I honestly did not think I would get this far. :trampoline:

The ladies are looking great. My first grow was with 48" shop lights and soil white widow. I think if you like this it may become an addictive hobby and your garden will grow and bloom bigger forever.

Peace, :joint:

It's FREAKIN' KILLIN' ME! HaHa....

I knew I would be happy if I succeeded, but I never thought I'd be so TOTALLY stoked-even if they had only 1/4 of the trichomes on them that they do, I'd still be really proud of myself.

I didn't think the final bit of waiting would have me this antsy, but it does! Anyone else feel like a little kid waiting for Christmas morning when doing this the first time?

The thing that gets me more excited than anything is that I am VERY close to having grown my own medication-to me that's pretty powerful. It's not pharms from a bottle, it's something I am accomplishing on my own (with a LOT of FANTASTIC advice from everyone here). What a cool feeling. :jump:

I've found that the time I do spend with the girls is really soothing, soulful, and relaxing (not to mention it smells incredible!!)

I think I will keep my strongest 3, and reveg them into bonsai mommas. Then I can help other patients with clones too and keep genetics that work best for me.

But first things first-still gotta make it to chop-day! (which will be several, since i have different strains)

I'd love to see how the OPK stakes up to the LVPK

I'm sure other strains are great, I just have a thing for the PK.

Peace, :joint:

Wow, that looks soooo much like mine...(first pic I posted)

I honestly thought the Purp was gonna finish before the Lavendar, but now I'm not so sure. As of tonite before I tucked them in for sleep time, I did see a few amber trichomes on the Lavendar. Interesting. I think Chemo will take the longest. I thought it would be first before everything while vegging because it grew so strong and so fast-but now it's taking longer than the other two. I find all of this really fascinating!

The plant is a wonderful thing. I think each plant has a different ripening pattern. A soil PK that is 24" at harvest will ripen differently hanging for a week than a hydro PK harvested at 24" (IMO). Also I have no idea how many % move from cloudy to amber druing the hang and cure, but this is a ripening flower and like most ripening flowers and fruit this plant gets darker, browner, blacker as it ripens / cures. The real trick is to know what you want in your plant and wait for her to show you she is ready and at the perfect point.

It will take many runs of the same strain in the same type of environment for you to decide what is best for you. The good news is having many runs of Purple Kush is like a fantasy come true!

Peace, :joint:

Nice lookin ladies!! I too am new to the indoor game and the amount of information just on this one particular site is absolutley amazing. The best method to learn for me is trial and error. That old saying "practice make perfect" goes a long way with this hobby. Anyways, one thing I was curious about was how you say they are in a room with a window. How are you keeping the light out when your lights off??
