It has a yellow video tv plug, so you have to have a video capture card to record. I thought about getting the more expensive model, but for $60 to $100 you can get a real USB microscope with a nice stand. Taking macros while holding the camera is next to impossible because of shaking and breathing, that makes be unsure about those hand held recording units.
