This is a popcorn bud of a Lavender plant. We harvested the main buds and left the popcorn buds to fill out for about three weeks. They turned a lot darker then the original harvest.
I'm surprised I never noticed this thread before. Wow, gorgeous colours! We (the two heads) grow outdoors in Canada. We call this Baby's Breath. It is ripe in September and smokes wonderfully. Maybe a third are bright magenta from preflowers to harvest (all pics from the last few weeks, except the last two):
