I only put the year and plant ID# as all the rest can be put in a book with the ID#.
I use family numbers like Thai are the 700's Afghani 100's etc etc.

They get long fast. Example:
2007.777.31 is planted in 2007 the 777 is a Thai import seed line .31 is the 31st plant of that line. If crossed I make 2007.777.31X119.4 119.4 is the male clone used.
Next year the seeds if grown would be 2008.777.31/119.4
I only use the year when I grow them to help me remember and for data collection.

Wonderful information-- Thanks everyone for contributing! I agree with you Gratefulhead, taking copious notes is a Discipline, but also a very valuable time saving tool. I too have used the diary method of note-taking. But alas I too have wasted too much time looking for key data.

Flower clusters.. Is it sparse or tight (close)

Aroma/smell/taste...... is it either


Fruity/berry/sweet or Grassy/clhorophyll


Reaction to stress


Good Bad


all depends on your personal tastes I guess ..... had probs putting excel sheets up

Edit: this is the sort of male that is refered to as shoing female pistils

I've put your male/ female 100 point clone evaluation data into excel, I just need to refine a few things. Great information to put out there SamS, this will be a great help in the future.
