Entry into the 420 2006???

What qualifies for an entry to the 420?

Everyone is getting ready to enter, but what do we need in order to enter?

Can anyone enter?

Does it have to be a specific strain from a specific breeder?

How much weed must be submitted?

There is a lot of info from the 2005, but whats the bottom line?

Perhaps its too early to ask this now and 2006 guidelines will change?

Yes anyone that grows bud...
growers will need to get 1 oz of their finest to DG/Gypsy...
doesn't have to be specific, just indica, sativa or hash...
please correct me if I'm wrong (like anybody wouldn't lol) but growers have a very minimal fee if any and breeders have a small fee...

I'm here to correct you zep LOL...actually no...just to give a few more specifics.

Ron, the bottom line is to be found here if you're referring to the scoring.

Growers do not have to pay an entry fee. The amounts to be submitted may vary, this year it was 30 grams for weed, don't remember the hash, but it was less. Breeders pay an entry fee.

If you're planning on entering, you can enter anything you wish from any breeder. Plan on more or less the same amounts, I don't think they'll be reduced or increased much more/less than that. Keep an eye out for Dutch's threads in the IC420 Cup forum, she's the one who does such a wonderful job planning the party for all of us :wink:

well guys i was planning a trip to the cup this year . but after the grow . i was ripped off by my ex partner.. i was going to enter and everything .. but didn't get to . well needless to say . he is gone and im still growing ,, so this year of 2006 i will be there . im going to start planning . i was really looking foward to meeting all of you guys . oh well next year is comming up/

I think a hash entry is half an oz. I hope to enter my sour bubble bubblehash next year as well as the Sour Bubble bx 3 in the indica catagory again. Third time's the charm!

Breeders have a fee of 350 euro's but not sure if you can have more than one entry for the price. Prices may go up next year however as I have no inside info. Haven't asked but the event was run very well this year and it was very fair. BOG

Hey BOGgy,

DNA entered in both the Sativa and the Indica category, they won the Indica with LA Confidential and placed second in Sativa with their Cannalope Haze. I don't know if they had to pay more to make multiple entries though.

Sack, if you enter in the Growers category you don't have to pay. Only those entering in the Breeders' category has to pay :wink:

Yeah Sack are you a grower or a breeder? Even if you entered your cross of something or your special selection you could still enter as a grower for free. I think the fee allows breeders multiple entries and breeders can just send some seeds if they need money to enter. BOG

Hey DWW. Would love to see ya in the cup. I may enter also.I have been working on a strain myself. I can't say too much about the strain yet, but will say it's 50% Train Wreck. Have you grown out thos BG x BG yet? I think I'm gonna start some soon.

or is this more of a "contest" and the general public isn't invited?

Cup 2006

This past year growers entered for free. Breeders were required to pay 350 euros.
Whether grower or breeder entry, everyone was permitted to make a maximum
of 3 entries....1 indica, 1 sativa, or 1 hashish. Cannabis was 30g and hashish 15g to enter. Some chose to just enter 1 type, but
could have entered the remaining 2 categories if they wanted to.

The fee charged to breeders is necessary to help off-set the costs associated
with holding such an event.

There's going to be a few changes next year,
I'll be posting entry details for 2006 later in the summer, but can tell you already that the amount of hashish needed to enter next year will be reduced. 15g of hashish isn't much to come up with for a breeder/seed co. but for independent growers it is quite a bit. So in an attempt to receive more entries from independent growers we will be reducing the amount required to enter...will let you know more about that later on, but know we are refining things a bit and am confident 2006 will be an event not to be missed!

can i suggest that the amount of hash needed to enter be reduced to around 4g's as that is what i get from an oz of bud once bubbled

this will not only increase the number of entries but also the quality of the entrants

dubmantx, you just got to send/smoke 2 oz's to make sure Just kidding I hear its pretty safe. Allot of people seemed to get it there last year, just got to use some stealth.
