DVD burning size issue question

I have this 3:07 hours long video clip I need to burn on to a DVD.

Windows DVD maker is telling me the file is 37 minutes over disc capacity.

What do I need to do to get this file burned w/o having to shorten it NOR use a 2nd DVD?

This is just a one time thing for me to do so if I need software to compress the file please suggest something/a link where that software is free or free to try.

Thank you!

Use anyvideoconverter then throw the file in there and at the top above where the arrows are there's a tab and select customized avi video and change the frame size to original then select the convert button. idk the option to select the output size you might get lucky and it will compress it well enough to be around 4gb with out having to change the settings, if not lower the bitrate setting,

press okay and click on the output folder button for the final .avi

The tricky part is getting the quality to stick after compressing, if all fails you could use a 8gb blank dvd instead of a 4gb.
