Dutch May Stop Cannabis Tourism!

Been travelling to The Netherlands for decades... Been to Spain, as well, and smoked a lotof street-bought Afghani hash, years ago.

If I could get good pot easily, with no repercussions, I would choose Spain in a minute over The Netherlands.. Don;t get me wrong, I love the Dutch, and the Society. The Night Life, the diversity. The people.....

But, for a vacation, Much better weather is special, too.. And POTENTIAL SURFING easily tips the scales...

Especially, the difference in weather when I usually travel... After the 'work' is all done... Nudge Nudge, wink wink..

California is great, but I live here, so I gotta go elsewhere, preferably something that resembles a politically semi-conservative HOMOGENOUS whitebread rural small-town as little as possible, lol...

even IF this did happen I suspect it would just put dealers back on the street
would be a great job for the Dutch 18+ y.o. or students, who can buy it legaly in coffee shops
then they could sell it on to tourists with a mark up but I doubt thats what the Dutch want
they have a system that works and Amsterdam relies on tourism
imagine Las Vegas only allowing people from there to gamble in casino's, I suspect it would close down in a month

If this happen... i'll cry!:frown:
Beside the coffeshop owners, imagine what a ban against non-nonresidentials would do to the rest of the stores around the cannabis culture.

I, as a belgian monthly "visitor" I cannot see this happen. even if they did they would annul it after one day because of all the dealers (mostly foreign) sprouting all over the place. All the weed produced their has to somewhere.. dont thnk they will ship it to cali ..

A Dutch government commission has recommended the end of marijuana related tourism in the Netherlands. They suggest closing all coffeeshops to non-residents, turning them into membership "clubs" instead. The report recommends that only Dutch grown cannabis be sold in such clubs to Dutch residents.

This would mean a drastic cutback in tourism to Dutch cities like Amsterdam and border towns where German, French and Belgians go to buy weed.

It would make me take Amsterdam off my list of "must visit" for sure.
No BS, they do this, and I won't have any reason to go there unfortunately...
