12 cans per 4oz is way overkill. i have a big tube that does almost 7 ounces at a time and i was doing 3 or 4 300ml cans each load. i'm sure i could use 1-2 more or re-use all of my green again.
you could try using parchment paper, not wax paper to put the oil on. parchment paper is like wax paper without the waxy layer that can add onto your oil if you ever scrape the paper. i do agree the blowing the oil into some kind of glass dish would be safer. also i am running a 150g okief and i use 4 300ml cans when i fill it perfectly which is actually about 2.5-3 oz not 150gs of trim.
