It's not needed but it does make your weed much much better, even just two weeks in a jar will greatly improve any fresh buds. Afte 6 weeks it starts getting good and around 3 months my smoke is getting special. If you've never cured anything that long you really should try it even just with a little of your harvest. If you sell you'll be able to fetch a better price after 2 weeks jarred.
