Does it Hurt Seeds to be Aggressively Dried ?

I was planting lettuce in the pouring rain yesterday, and my plastic bags of seeds got slightly wet.

I put them on top of an LED lamp that I use for veg.

Then looked for signs of moisture and used a paper towel to map it all up.

So I think I took care of moisture - that can destroy seeds in the long term.

So I was thinking about putting some Desiccants in the bags.

But then ... what happens if the Desiccant soaks up all the moisture, and the moisture content in the seed gets un-naturally low ?

Obviously I can use a "measured response", using just a small amount of desiccant.

On the other hand - having seeds mold SUCKS.

So I can understand using an "Assertive Approach" - use a LOT of desiccant, make sure any moisture gets soaked up by the desiccant.

But then does the seed get over-dried ?
