Dispensaries in Canada

rcmp loves to respond to medi grows......alot of the big medi that i have setup have the rcmp come and look over everything, they quote their time and stress that they have no problem coming if there is trouble.

when there has been trouble they have been there ASAP ready to kick some ripper ass

sounds funny but in chilliwack, mission, langley, abbotsford and vancouver the response has been pretty good from what I have seen

Pangea- why? if you are within limits and operating in the restrictions of your license and are up to code, you have nothing to worry about. all of my friends and myself included call bc hydro and provide them with license numbers to avoid any problems. the cops have never bothered my friends ...anything from a 4 light show to a 60/60 flip flop

I would not be telling BC Hydro or the cops unless a situation arises. The more folks that know, the better chance something will go wrong. I have been present when the cops were called to a med grow for a home invasion. Did little good as they arrived after. I was surprised how little they know about these situations. When asked if they could keep an eye out for the night, they literally laughed. Good luck. Peace GS

gs- really?? yea i dunno bout sitting infront of your house for a prolonged period of time, sounds a bit unreasonable....
In all the cases of a attempted robbery, they were more than professional in friends and personal experiences. they even offered how long it would take for a response if there was a reoccurance or an issue. all these places were done to the tits, for electrical etc, maybe that made a huge difference? being up to code, permits the whole nine yards....

from what my friends have told me they would rather call the police and hydro to avoid a door kick-in, ac's damages and being cuffed for a few hours so they invite them over to have a look through once everything starts. beats having a green team come and bust yo shit up!

I have had the green team twice and the hydro inspection crew once. If you answer the door they don't break it down. They will ask about a permit and if you have one it goes very differently from there. As to warrants, they will likely check with HC before busting down any doors. Peace GS

ps. the internet is a funny thing. I never meant to imply that we wanted them parked outside all night. Just an occasional drive by during the rest of their shift. I often wonder if folks read too extreme cuz its more fun

Grow ops are rare where I am. If I was being home invaded and had the opportunity to alert the authorities, mentioning that i have a legal grow would be irrelevant to their and my focus and response. The permits all over my walls would hopefully prevent the cops from damaging equipment or medicine and if not, would have to deal with that through the justice system.

Not worried just don't see the relevance in the situation. Perhaps if it was a hostage scenario, with a robber locked in a flower or mother room threating to hurt my babies, Id relate that info to the popo before they arrive. ;)

When I get the cop knock at my med grow I was double my limit. Because I have the permit the cops have to err to the side of caution. They threatened me they would be back and I had better get my numbers in check. In that scenario having the license was nice. Peace GS

HC license will make you legal. Can it stop thieves that rob your garden? Just because it is legal doesn't mean it is stress free. Good luck. Peace GS

That's definitely a stresser. We have Cannabis producer insurance to help ease the stress ( a little bit) if the worst were ever to happen.

I hate thieves....

Medical Marijuana License

Medical Marijuana License

Slightly off topic:

I suffer from depression which causes me to have severe mood swings, I have certain 'triggers' basically. Also have issues with sleeping and sinus problems. Cannabis has helped with all of these, especially with my thought process and learning to manage.

Still, I'm nervous to go to my doctor about getting a license. I haven't gone to a therapist or anything so nothing is really 'official'. There's doctors that will skype or something but I'm not sure if they will take me seriously or not.

Is it safe to apply for a license if I'm growing? What are my chances of getting a license?

Anyway, anyone have some advice?

It always amazes me how “American’s” try to chime in on our threads. First off no one is selling any cannabis through this website; the thread was about dispensaries operating in Canada and what the charges are. So “I’m not sure how the feds” are going to come down on the site.. Again were not in New York, or where anyone of you American’s may reside, catch a clue about Canadian Law first before speaking, or what the thread is talking about. No one is selling here. What’s the difference of people listing prices of weed at the cali, Main, Michigan, dispensaries would you come down on those people talking about prices in “MED” states, or something like weedmaps that operates. I’m not being rude, I’m just saying one ones said anything to the effect of “Hey I want to buy weed from you, or Hey I want to sell some weed to you”

It might be hard for you to get a license, at the end of the day a Dr has to sign his Good name to the application, and If I were a “Dr” without the valid proof or category that you are suffering from, I would not put my name on it” It seems like you are suffering from a category B level, which just happens to be the hardest license to get, and as you know, you will need a specialist.

Again after seeing the specialist they may want to a history of what your claming form your family Dr, Psychiatrist, therapist, or whomever may treat you for depression.

Category A: Multiple Sclerosis, Cancer, Aids, Server Arthritis, Epilepsy, Spinal Cord Disease. From this list you either have it, or you don’t, and know Dr will sign that you suffering form this, on a Health Canada from. I wouldn’t want to loose my med license over some patient.

I have a B2 form in front of me, I’m looking at section B2-5

1. B. Conventional treatments for category 2 symptoms have been tried or considered and have been found to be ineffective or medically inappropriate for the treatment of the applicant.

That’s why I was saying you would have had to have a history with some sort of qualified specialist that has been treating your for depression with whatever meds they use “such as Fluoxetine aka Prozac, Sarafem”

It might be easier for you to becomes a designated grower, but that is another battle in itself.

Put it this way were almost into march 2012, I’m sure there are alot of dr’s that are willing to sign the paper work, with the correct documentation, for what you are claming I assuming they would put you on these anti depressants before giving you medical marijuana, and again you would have to get a specialist to access you first, and then the specialist would want to see how you have been treating yourelf prior. That could take upwards to a year.

Now were in the year 2013 and if the dr’s sign your paperwork, it will take about 10 weeks. Say you get your paper work in march 2013, you will have about seven months to get two decent harvest in, if growing from seed, By 2014 sometime the program for PPl or Dg’s should be ending. Btw know one exactly know when the program is to end in 2014

So is it worth it to you is the quetsion?

P.S: I wouldn’t assume that it is safe to grow if your applying, because neither has anything to do with each other. You getting a license is not a determinate if you will be granted a license. I think your asking and I could be wrong should “I be applying for a license while growing” Well my answer to you would be, yes, but only if the dr has signed your paper work already. Furthermore If I were in your shoes and I were to apply I’d wait a month into my application after I had sent it in to get a sort of “head start” on the license arriving. Once you have the Dr’s Signature on your paperwork, your good to go, all health Canada is doing, is entering the data in the system. The way I see it, from the day the Dr signs your paperwork, you are licensed, just not officially.

Thanks for the advice, that's what I was thinking. It's probably not worth the trouble at this point. Which really is unfortunate, people need their medicine.

I’m not saying it’s not worth it, because if your really want it you can, but it’s the time restraints that’s against you at the moment. “Try”, at least you’ll be where you started, with nothing, if the worst happens. I’d try to find one of those specialist first, perhaps you could call into the HC hotline, and see if they would give you some info, or maybe even a google search would you yield you something.
