Diesel, OG Kush, Chemdog ... Cookies, GGlue, White ... Green Crack, Candyland, Silver Kush ... More ? than Answers
I added the Green Crack, Candyland, and Silver Kush, because I had a chance to grow & smoke them recently, and I thought they might be relevant.
I hear people talking about Lime a lot when they talk about OG Kush'es.
Green Crack didn't have the lime smell but I loved the high. They say it is Kush derived.
It makes me wonder about how Kushness and Sourness are interwoven in today's seeds. What is their connection to the Kush'es ? ... or perhaps they mostly just share a smell.
one definition of Diesel -
"Our Original Sour Diesel clone is the precursor to ECSD and the current Sour diesels out there... She was the first one to make what we know as Sour Diesel today. This clone is what everyone on the east coast thinks of when they think of sour diesel. Straight sour kerosine funk to the max. She smacks your lips then smacks you in the head. Great long lasting high with phenomenal medicinal properties." (from Cali Connection Original Diesel.)
I used GDP's (Ken Estes) defintion of OG Kush -
"GrandDaddy Purple Seeds used the Tahoe OG clone and crossed it with our stunning OG male to create a Kush masterpiece.
GrandDaddy Purple Seeds OG has a distinct hash-like flavor that stays on the pallet. Its unmistakeable pine/skunk-like aroma carries right through in the taste as well. This triple-threat combination of look, taste and smell makes this strain one of the most desirable and hands-down favorite among their patients."
Moving on to something related to Chemdog, I had a chance to grow Dinachem from Dinafem a few months ago -
"Dinachem is the latest version of the mythical elite clone ChemDog, in the seed form.
To reproduce and enhance its vigor, we have used an original clone and we have crossed it with a select clone of Guava Chem, injecting new energy and vigor, yet preserving its delicious flavor of authentic original ChemDog.
The ChemDog has an incredible pedigree, it is the mother of NYC Diesel, Sour Diesel and OG Kush. It´s an elite clone isolated in 1991, in the East Coast of the USA.
The clone is 21 years old and has lost a lot of vigor, leading to a declining production."
(Dinachem was a good smoke, but not as good as Green Crack, for me. They were both dank and skunky, no other smell stood out ... yet.)
I hear people talk about ChemDog being the hydro-grown version of this strain.
I did a search for "cookies, genetic, origin" here at ICMag. A thread about Endur's Cookies stood out -

Is there a relation between Cookies and Diesel and OG Kush ?
I could ask the same question about Gorilla Glue and the White. It sounds like the White is a unique strain which is sometimes crossed to a version of OG, Fire OG, to create White Fire, AKA Wifi.
I would love to find out more about the origins and history of all these strains, and how they descend from old classics like those from the Seed Bank, e.g. NL5 x Haze, IF they do.
It might read like The Bible, or a bedtime story. "In the beginning there was Hindu Kush, and Malawi Haze, and it was Good."
Well, perhaps we could file this whole post under the category of "Stoned Thinking".
