Then by that logic you should be OK with the school banning Donald Duck, because he doesn't wear pants.

The nudity your railing against is a mouse with no clothes on. A MOUSE!

Donald Duck is probably not on their 8th grade curriculum to begin with. I guess he was banned too?

it was a drawing, not a photograph. no worse, i bet, than what the kids draw on bathroom walls, or hear at home or on the bus/playground...or reading Dad's Playboy or Hustler...at HOME. you are not going to find a kid that sheltered anywhere on this continent outside of a home-schooled kid in Utah among the Mormons probably...

Mormons have their rights.

Knows full well kids have always had access to actual porn, but argues that parents are concerned about a drawing of a nude mouse.

Kids also have sex. That doesn’t excuse Epstein. There is a difference between banning a book or taking it off of the reading list. This was the curriculum for 8th grade students.

cur·ric·u·lum
/kəˈrikyələm/
nounthe subjects comprising a course of study in a school or college.
"course components of the school curriculum"

.
They’re not forcing 8th graders to read the book. They’re still allowed to. The books aren’t “banned” as the headlines would like you to believe. There are other books on the holocaust. Let the story play out before pointing fingers.

Which holocaust book did they replace it with?

Don’t know. I’ve only read that replacements are under consideration. The media isn’t reporting that part. No counter stories. Only”they’re banning books” which they’re not really doing. They’re no longer promoting it. I’m wondering what they do promote, but nobody’s reporting that. Sensationalism sells news. Be it serial killers storming the borders or nazis running the school boards. It’s designed to get us riled up. I’ll wait and see.

You'd almost think to go straight to the school board website, or to the actual county school sites themselves, for additional (any) info and not rely on media reporting.

Unfortunately, they don't think it's important to share any of that stuff you're waiting to see.

To Kill a Mockingbird has been taken out of the curriculum in many schools for political reasons. The reason given is because of the N word. But, I noticed that the "banning" started around the time that Brett Kavanaugh was baselessly accused of being a gang rapist and the 'believe all woman' movement emerged. So, I figured it was pulled because it is about a white woman making false rape allegations against a black man in the democrat controlled south...

stop thinking, hempy. you just embarrass yourself and make the human race look even more fucking ridiculous when you do... as Ron White said "next time you have a thought...let it go..."🤣

Florida now banning half of their proposed math textbooks and citing CRT as the reason even though there is no proof of what they claim found in the books. This went almost exactly as I have predicted it would go lmfao. Republicans and fascists would COMPLETELY ignore the actual definition of CRT and strawman their own definition into reality which they then would go on to use as a cudgel to beat & block any sort of classroom discussions about race.

The fact that most textbooks come from Texas is also probably a plot to this. It seems like some money making scheme to promote certain textbook makers over others, while also promoting school choice (republicans, libertardians, and the far right have LOOOONG been against public schooling and would do away with it entirely if they could). Go research the early Libertarian party presidential platforms where they lay out all their policies. it's basically privatize everything and eliminate all public good. The really famous one everyone cites is the 1980 Libertarian platform w/ David Koch (Koch Bro's dude) as their presidential or vice presidential (i cant remember) candidate.

I gotta hand it to far right propgandists man. They really are geniuses with this shit.

If you want a visual documentation of this I'd actually recommend the Last Week Tonight w/John Oliver episode he recently did about CRT. lots of good points are brought up.
