Contra costa heads, "Uncle Bob" ?

It's been a while, but, being from the bay area i've heard about "uncle bob" a few times. Was this an actual strain? Or was it a catch all like "Chronic/indo" became ?

And most importantly, with the current strains available, is it even worth searching out ? Or has it gone the way of the dinosaurs?
