Bill Would Make It A Crime To Even PLAN To Smoke Marijuana In Another Country-- Even If It Is Legal In That Country

The House Judiciary Committee is considering legislation (HR 313) Thursday that makes it a federal crime to plan to commit a drug offense in another country that would be illegal if it was actually committed in the U.S. -- even if the offense is actually legal in the other country.

Federal legislation (HR 1254) that would criminalize possession and sales of chemical compounds found in products such as K2, Spice, and "bath salts" will also be voted on in the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday and is expected to pass. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Charles Dent (R-Pennsylvania), has already passed the House Energy and Commerce Committee, so the next step would be the full House. Similar legislation is sailing unimpeded through the Senate.

WTF? How the hell can they even begin to enforce that one. Another stupid law and a waste of our tax funds. Assholes.

i just had to find out what the HR 313 was about, that sounded too bizarre
here's the bill text i found online

To amend the Controlled Substances Act to clarify that persons who enter into a conspiracy within the United States to possess or traffic illegal controlled substances outside the United States, or engage in conduct within the United States to aid or abet drug trafficking outside the United States, may be criminally prosecuted in the United States, and for other purposes.

Even a moron would know that harsher penalties are gonna do nothing but fill up more privatized and gov't jails. Creating more felons out of victim-less offenses just to turn them into slaves and strip them of their rights to vote and live their life how they choose.

as i read it, the intention is to make it easier to admit evidence
seems to be oriented to the large trafficking ops
probably not a big change, just more of the same failed policies

blame the banksters ,it all falls back on them
They may be complicit, but I myself place the onus on our "illustrious" elected officials, Big Pharma, and the incestuous relationship between the two.

They probably see it as essential for the economy. The cheap labour in prisons helps keep the US trade defecit down at an acceptable level, otherwise you'd see a lot more made in mexico stickers on your office furniture. 'Free' market capitalism demands a 'flexible' labour force (flexible meaning cheap (the real reason your southern border is so porous)), don't get more flexible than slaves :tiphat:

Said the same thing in the other thread about this bill but this bill is being produced by YOUR House of Representatives controlled by speaker of the house J Boehner who stands with no light between him and tea partier Eric Cantor that is funded by the Koch brothers who want to destroy the country so they can pick up the pieces and gain control of even more of the worlds resources. Concentrate on the problem.
