Cold Trap any one have one of these?

Won't a cold trap also condense water out of the airstream and dilute the ethanol? Is it not really a meaningful amount or do you redistill it?

It condenses out whatever water is there, but after the initial evacuation, there shouldn't be any moisture laden atmosphere present.

Are you using that organic grape ethanol? I swear that stuff takes forever to purge and maybe its just me but i taste it>> Any tips on purging the ethanol..

I started using the kleen xtract, never did get to try grape spirits, although I always wanted to.

As far as purging goes, just build a nice 'evaporator chamber' and go as thin film as possible. Then put it in the vac oven/chamber in the same thin film at 115°f for how ever long it takes to fully stabilize. Then I gather it by folding it onto itself, and continue to purge as usual.

Same basic stuff you'd expect
